GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS LOK SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 1651 TO BE ANSWERED ON MARCH 06, 2018 URBAN HOUSING SCHEME No. 1651 SHRI MANSUKHBHAI DHANJIBHAI VASAVA : Will the Minister of HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS be pleased to state: (a) the number of housing units constructed under Urban Housing Scheme in Gujarat so far, city-wise; (b) the names of the cities where houses are being constructed in various areas of Gujarat; and (c) the number of persons benefited under the said scheme, city- wise? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE (INDEPENDENT CHARGE) OF THE MINISTRY OF HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS (SHRI HARDEEP SINGH PURI) (a) to (c): In order to supplement the efforts of States/UTs, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has launched the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) {PMAY(U)} mission on 25.06.2015 to provide central assistance to States/UTs for addressing the housing requirement of all urban poor by 2022. So far, 265 projects for construction of 1,98,318 houses have been sanctioned under PMAY (U) mission in the State of Gujarat. Based on the project proposals submitted by Government of Maharashtra, 94 projects for construction 1,70,465 houses have been sanctioned under PMAY(U) for the State of Maharashtra and out of the sanctioned houses 25,222 houses have been completed.
