The New Communities Program (NCP) is a long-term 360 affordable homes initiative of LISC Chicago that supports comprehensive and apartments community development in 16 Chicago neighborhoods. NCP has been rejuvenating challenged communities, 90,000 square feet of bolstering those in danger of losing ground and retail and community space preserving the diversity of areas in the path of gentrification. The NCP initiative spans a cross-section $108,241,240 of Chicago’s South, Southwest, West and Northwest leveraged sides. The vast scope of projects and neighborhoods that the NCP initiative has influenced is a model for LISC’s Building Sustainable Communities strategy to expand investment in housing and real estate; increase family income and assets; stimulate economic development, improve access to quality education; and support healthy environments and lifestyles.
