I could not be more proud to be the mayor of the best city in the best state in the best country in the world. You are going to find that Hendersonville has exceptional schools, wonderful community opportunities, and a population of professionals.

Among our residents, we have people in professional careers in several areas. The most common are:

• 4,600 in management • 2,400 in healthcare • 2,000 in business and financial • 1,200 in IT • 1,000 in architecture and engineering • 500 in legal

Many of these people are currently commuting to Nashville and would welcome opportunities to work closer to their Hendersonville homes. It’s an environment that is ripe for businesses looking to expand or relocate.

Being closer to home means they are closer to their families. Many of these are families who have recently decided to make Hendersonville their home. They moved from other parts of Tennessee and across the country. They like what Tennessee has to offer and they fall in love with everything that Hendersonville is.

A lot of what makes Hendersonville shine is the way people connect here. There’s a shared lifestyle that we all appreciate. We come together to build upon a strong sense of community, faith and family that has long been established here.

Please enjoy this guide as it showcases so many reasons why we all love the exceptional city of Hendersonville, Tennessee.

Better yet, come visit.

6 HENDERSONVILLE CITY GUIDE a letter from THE PRESIDENT Welcome to Hendersonville, our cherished City by the Lake.

We offer a wonderful place to visit with countless things to do, see and enjoy and a beautiful place to live with bountiful opportunities and a quality of life second to none. We know the key to a successful community comes from a deep sense of civic pride combined with hard work and resolve of the people who live and work there. That kind of determination is abundant in Hendersonville from the forward-thinking business leaders to caring neighbors and people at all levels who take great pride in shaping the city they love. These stories will reveal the uniqueness of Hendersonville, setting it apart as an ideal place to raise a family, work, play and do business.

Hendersonville boasts an attractive landscape, surrounded by lake beauty and rural panoramas, with miles of trails and hundreds of acres of parkland, which attract outdoor enthusiasts and sports teams from across the mid-state and beyond. Easily accessible through three interstates and a regional airport, Hendersonville’s location is a key reason why it’s become so desirable. In addition to everything Hendersonville offers, Nashville is only 16 miles down the I-65 corridor, providing close proximity to all of the big-city amenities, including the international airport.

A young city of 50 years, Hendersonville has a clear sense of its own identity, a city coming into its own as it develops into a thriving business center with a rapidly growing base of professionals. Hendersonville has been the choice of business owners across the nation seeking to relocate or start their business in a favorable environment. It has been the home to many world-renowned entertainers and continues to attract artists and entrepreneurs seeking the optimal lifestyle.

Now, with the highest population in Sumner County, Hendersonville’s future growth is being well planned with the dedicated foresight of city leaders. Shopping destinations offer a blend of uniquely exquisite local shops and restaurants along with a substantial mix of nationally recognized chain shops. Enriched by a variety of cultural amenities and recreational opportunities on water and land, there is much to see and do in Hendersonville. “The City Guide” is powered by the Hendersonville Area Chamber of Commerce and was designed, photographed, written and produced by local people with an inherent love for this community. We hope you enjoy it!

By setting their buildings along New Shackle Island Road and Indian Lake Boulevard, they extended the community beyond its iconic linear stretch of Highway 31E.

The city annexed new homes north of Vietnam Veterans Boulevard and east to Saundersville Road, areas that had once been considered far outside Hendersonville.
