1. The pilot project at Bayan Baru Market and Food Court Centre was launched in August 2011. 30 food stalls were selected to participate in this trial run and on the average is handling some 3500kgs of food waste per month based on an average operating time of only 2hours per day.

2. Transportation was also reduced as there are 14 IBC tanks there which can keep up to about 7tons of food waste at any one time. On an average only one lorry trip every ten days.

3. Running costs is also minimal as the "photon fuel" required to add to the process is provided free for every IBC tank collected. Electricity and water costs although not monitored is also minimal. The impact of the results of the effectiveness and success of the initiative are also giving positive values to the image of the Council therefore, this programs now has become between the waste reduction initiatives are planned and expanded so that the goal of creating a clean and green long time around can be achieved.
