SUPPLEMENTARY INSTRUCTIONS To be read in conjunction with the RS Class Association Standard Sailing Instructions

5 SIGNALS MADE ASHORE 5.1 Signals made ashore will be displayed at the flagpole and halyards at the inshore end of Haldon Pier, Torquay Harbour and the club flagpole at Paignton Sailing Club. 5.2 When flag AP is displayed ashore, ‘1 minute’ is replaced with ‘not less than 60 minutes’ in Race Signals AP. This changes race signals AP. 5.3 [DP] Flag D with one sound means boats shall not leave the shore until this signal is made. 9 COURSES 9.1 Courses to be sailed will be Windward Leeward or Trapezoid. The diagrams in Addendum A show the courses, the order in which marks are to be passed and the side on which each is to be passed. 9.2 The courses to be sailed will be indicated by boards on the side of the committee signal vessel. 9.3 1. White Course – RS200 and RS400 2. Yellow Course - RS100, RS300, RS600 and RS Vareo 3. Pink Course - RS500, RS700 and RS800 10 MARKS Marks 1, 1A, 2, 3, 4S and 4P will be either Orange or Yellow inflatable buoys as illustrated in Addendum A Course diagrams. The start mark will be a Race Committee boat with a mast displaying an Orange flag or a White Danbuoy with an Orange flag, the finish mark will be a Race Committee boat with a mast displaying a Blue flag or a White Danbuoy with a Blue flag. 11 OBSTRUCTIONS 8.1 The following are obstructions – A yellow buoy with associated trailing buoys serving as a wave monitor located at approximately 050°433N 003°517W

17 HEARING REQUESTS 17.4 Hearings will be held in the protest room at the Royal Torbay Yacht Club or by a Zoom meeting, details of which will be communicated via the competitors WhatsApp group 19 SAFETY REGULATIONS 19.1 Tally System - The requirements of this instruction are for the safety of the competitors. (a) The tally control point to check –out and check-in competitors will normally be located at the top of the slipway from Haldon Pier. (b) Tallies comprise numbered wristbands. Numbers will be allocated at registration. Tallies shall be worn visibly, over clothing, on the right wrist at all times whilst afloat. (c) All helms and crews shall individually check-out before racing by personally collecting their tally. (d) All helms and crews shall individually check-in immediately on returning to shore after racing, but no later than the protest time limit, by returning the tally personally to tally control. (e) The race committee may protest a boat for a breach of these safety regulations. (f) Boats launching from Paignton will be issued with Tallies by Paignton Sailing Club 23 OFFICIAL VESSELS 23.1 The Race Committee boat on each course will be identified by White, Yellow and Pink flags in accordance `with 9.3 above. These Supplementary Sailing Instructions cover the RS Summer Championships 2021 which will be conducted in accordance with HM Government and RYA Guidelines relating to the COVID-19 pandemic that are applicable at the time.
