Caleb Porter caused plenty of worry in Akron after the national title-winning coach announced in the summer he would leave for after this season, which ultimately ended in Akron losing in an upset in the NCAA tournament.

But it appears there's life after Porter, and The New York Times analyzes the next step for the Zips, who have been an MLS feeding ground of late:
