ARRIVING IN PARIS There are 2 airports in Paris, namely Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) and Orly (ORY) and the Eurostar terminal.

Travelling from Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) Charles de Gaulle Airport is 14 miles north from central Paris and easily reached by public transport. The cheapest is the RER train on line B, which has several stops in central Paris and connects with the Metro system. This is a good choice when you're traveling with light luggage however, if you're loaded with bags, we'd suggest an airport bus, or for direct transportation at a higher fare an airport shuttle or taxi. From the RER platforms you can reach the Chatelet-les-Halles Station, to catch the RER line A to Noisy-le-Grand - Mont d'Est station in the east of Paris. The hotel is situated on top of the metro station!

Travelling from Orly Airport (ORY) Orly is located about 9 miles south of central Paris, on the opposite side of the city from Charles de Gaulle. It has two terminals, Orly-Sud and Orly-Ouest. The Orlyval shuttle trains connect Orly Airport's Sud and Ouest terminals and to Antony Station on the RER B line, which you need to take to Chatelet-les-Halles station, and change onto the RER line A to Noisy-le-Grand - Mont d'Est station in the east of Paris. The hotel is situated on top of the metro station!

Arriving on Paris on the Eurostar Eurostar trains arrive and depart from the Gare du Nord Station; and it is an interchange point between the Paris Metro underground system and RER Line "B" trains that serve Charles de Gaulle Airport. From Gare du Nord Station catch the RER B to Chatelet-les-Halles Station, where you need to change to the RER line A to Noisy-le- Grand - Mont d'Est station in the east of Paris. The hotel is situated on top of the metro station!

Travelling around Paris on the metro

Walking is the most scenic way to explore Paris, but for longer journeys, the Metro is the preferred mode of transportation. With 14 lines and 380 stations, the Paris underground is Europe's second-largest subway system. Although the Paris Metro is one of the oldest subways in the world (it opened in 1900), it compares favourably with newer counterparts in other cities. Cars are modern and clean, there's little waiting time between trains, crime is minimal, and you won't find a quicker way to get around Paris. The basic Metro ticket is a ticket with a magnetic strip that costs approximately €1.70. You can save money by purchasing a carnet of 10 tickets for approximately €12.50 at the ticket window of any Metro station. A single ticket will take you anywhere within the city of Paris on the Metro and RER networks, and you can transfer between lines, or between the Metro and the RER (but not buses), on the same ticket. For further information on route planning on the metro, fare costs and maps please see Paris metro.
