La classifica finale dopo la Medal Race: 1° Iker Martinez De Lizarduy / Xabier Fernandez (Esp) 57 2° Nathan Outteridge / Iain Jensen (Aus) 84 3° Pietro Sibello / Gianfranco Sibello (Ita) 96 4° Dyen Emmanuel / Stephane Christidis (Fra) 102 5° Dylan Fletcher / Alain Sign (Gbr) 106 6° Chris Draper / Peter Greenhalgh (Gbr) 108 7° Stevie Morrison / Ben Rhodes (Gbr) 111 7° John Pink / Rick Peacock (Gbr) 111 9° Allan Norregaard / Peter Lang (Den) 120 10° Paul Brotherton / Mark Asquith (Gbr) 138 Le altre posizioni (primi posti) degli equipaggi esclusi dalla regata finale: 11° Lauri Lehtinen / Kalle Bask (Fin) 122 12° Federico Alonso / Arturo Alonso (Esp) 123 13° Morgan Lagraviere / Yann Rocherieux (Fra) 125 14° Nico Luca Marc Delle Karth / Nikolaus Leopold (Den) 134 15° Will Phillips / Sam Phillips (Aus) 134,2 16° Rodion Luka / George Leonchuk (Ukr) 147 17° Peter Burling / Blair Tuke (Aus) 150 18° Emil Toft Nielsen / Simon Toft Nielsen (Den) 152 19° Dave Evans / Ed Powys (Gbr) 161 Il Vostro Giornale - 2 / 2 - 30.09.2021.

Tweet 0 0 British sailors win silver medal at Europeans Team GBR sailors Chris Draper and Olympic silver medallist Simon Hiscocks have won the silver medal at the 49er European championships, matching their result at this event last year. Draper and Hiscocks led the event throughout the week in a mixture of conditions, but with a further four races to sail on the last day there was all to play for and anything could happen. In light conditions Draper and Hiscocks scored an 8,11,8,15, which was enough to prevent the Spanish pairing of Iker Martinez and Xabier Fernandez from defending their European title, but meant that their training partners Marcus Baur and Max Groy of Germany overtook them and won the gold medal along with the European title. Fellow British sailor Paul Brotherton and crew Mark Asquith sailed a brilliant final day winning two of the four races, to make a huge jump up the fleet from fourteenth place overall to finally finish fourth. RYA Development Squad sailors Stevie Morrison and Ben Rhodes finished in tenth place overall with team mates Alister Richardson and Peter Greenhalgh fifteenth.

HAMILTON – April 23, 2021 – After an intense week of training on the water in Bermuda’s Great Sound, the Great Britain SailGP Team is ready for the action to begin with racing starting today, Friday April 23rd, in SailGP Season 2. For the opening event for the season, the first day of racing will now take place a day earlier than scheduled. The weather on Saturday is forecast to be extremely light, therefore it is highly unlikely racing can take place and so the decision has been made to move the racing to ensure a spectacular event. Due to SailGP’s global broadcast agreements, racing on Friday will be pre-recorded and broadcast at SailGP’s allotted broadcast time on Saturday and distributed to all of its global broadcast partners, comprising 175 territories worldwide. SailGP will not be publishing any race results or race content from Friday across its channels. The format of the event’s racing will see three fleet races take place today, April 23rd, (with all eight boats racing together) and two fleet races on Sunday April 25th, followed by a final ‘podium race’ on Sunday with three teams competing to decide the winner of the Grand Prix.
