Igualmente damos conta das participações internacionais e os restantes eventos e actividades realizadas durante o ano de 2011. Julgámos que a nossa contribuição foi na direcção do desenvolvimento da modalidade, ainda que tenhamos a consciência que muito mais há por fazer. Neste aspecto, também a nossa comunidade pode dar um forte contributo, participando de forma mais activa, no debate de ideias de forma construtiva, em projectos que possam trazer mais qualidade competitiva. Uma gestão rigorosa no sentido de controlo de custos obrigou a que fossem sacrificadas algumas participações e apoios aos agentes da modalidade. Esta situação provocou alguns constrangimentos junto da comunidade escaquística nacional. Mesmo assim obtivemos alguns bons resultados desportivos, mas também sabemos que a formação ao nível da alta competição exige um grande investimento financeiro, que nesta fase de contenção despesas não tem sido aplicável ao que seria necessário. -
