HANNAH NAMED A PRESEASON ALL-AMERICAN DBU’s junior centerfielder Jameson Hannah has been named a Third Team Preseason All-American by D1Baseball entering 2018. Hannah is coming off a 2017 season in which he hit .328 and led the Patriots in five offensive categories including hits (88), runs (69), triples (4), stolen bases (9), and multi-hit games (28). D1Baseball also recently recognized Hannah as the No. 23 prospect on their Top 100 College Prospects List.

FOUR PATRIOTS TABBED TO MVC PRESEASON TEAM DBU placed four players on the Preseason All-Missouri Valley Conference Team. Among those four is the reigning batting champion in the MVC in senior outfielder Devlin Granberg. Joining Granberg are juniors Jameson Hannah (OF), Tim Millard (3B), and Garrett Wolforth (C).

HEEFNER CLOSING IN ON 400 CAREER WINS DBU head coach Dan Heefner enters 2018 just 12 wins away from reaching 400. In 10 seasons at the helm, Heefner owns a career record of 391-208 and his .651 win percentage ranks 19th best among all active NCAA Division I coaches. During his tenure as the head coach at DBU, Heefner has also produced 13 All-Americans and 10 Freshman All-Americans.

FITZ RATED NO. 7 ASSISTANT COACH IN THE NATION Baseball America rated Dan Fitzgerald as the No. 7 assistant coach in the nation in 2018. Since he arrived at DBU in 2013, the Patriots have landed 35 players on the Missouri Valley All-Conference Team that were recruited and signed by Fitzgerald. 2013 was the inaugural season of the Joan and Andy Horner Ballpark, the new baseball home for the Dallas Baptist Patriot Baseball Team. Construction of Horner Ballpark began in summer 2012, finishing in time for the start of the 2013 season. The baseball field remained in its former location, with the new ballpark built up around it. The 2,000-seat stadium bosts club seating, a state-of-the-art press box, two radio booths, a TV booth, and guest suites, as well as coaches’ offices and a reception area alongside new sunken dugouts and enhanced field lighting. An outdoor pavilion down the left field line and several party patios on the upper concourse have been added as new fan amentities. Outfield turf was added following the 2015 season. Horner Ballpark hosted its first NCAA Regional Tournament in 2015, as the Patriots welcomed Oregon State, Texas, and VCU.
