Clark Gable dreams of writing movies. When movie star Helena Harris, along with her co-star and former boyfriend Roberto Molinez, come to shoot their newest film in Clark’s town - Stone’s Throw - he is beyond excited.

As the film production of “This Magic Moment” moves in on Stone’s Throw, so does Clark’s former girlfriend, Emily McIntyre. They chat about business over takeout at Clark’s place and reminisce about their romantic history.

Clark meets his best friend Phil, the town limo driver, at the cast’s hotel, where Clark meets Helena after dropping her luggage off in her hotel room. The next day, he stops by the set of “This Magic Moment” and is accidentally thrown into an extra role in the production. Helena kisses him in the scene and recognizes him from the day before. She stops by Moon and the Stars to invite Clark to a cast and crew party at her hotel.

At the party, Clark dances with Helena, causing the jealous Roberto to throw him out of the party. This fuels the constant arguing between Roberto and Helena. Roberto, who was recently dumped by Helena for his unwillingness to start a family with her, is not used to women turning him down.

Helena offers to read Clark’s screenplay to make up for how he was treated by Roberto. When he goes to set to drop off the script...and flowers, Helena plays up her affection toward Clark to make Roberto jealous. Later, the news reports that there is tension on the film set, caused by a budding romance between Helena and Clark.

Helena admits to Clark she has been using him to make Roberto jealous. Clark agrees to continue fake a romance and in turn, Helena agrees to help Clark with his script. Seeing Helena and Clark together angers Roberto and saddens Emily who still has feelings for Clark. Clark hints to Emily and Justine that there isn’t truth in the romance rumors, but doesn’t fully reveal the truth. His involvement in the fake romance, however, leaves him little time to spend with Emily, with whom a flame still burns.

Despite Phil’s persistent offers, Justine finds reasons to avoid a date with him. Emily encourages Justine to move on with her life and considers a date with Phil and Justine encourages Emily to move on with her own life.

Helena escalates her plan to make Roberto jealous by “hiring” Clark as her assistant. Roberto responds by bringing Helena flowers and she turns him down, but is happy that he’s chasing her again.
