COL LISA D. WHITTAKER, USA Commander, DISA Global Operations Command

COL Lisa D. Whittaker commands the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Global Operations Command (DGOC) headquartered at Scott Air Force Base, IL with subordinate units located throughout the . She is also the commander of Orion, the Department of Defense’s (DoD) largest Cyberspace Operations Center and the Joint Migration Team (JMT) who is responsible to migrate all DoD entities behind the Secretary of Defenses’ top cyber defensive capability known as the Joint Regional Security Stacks (JRSS).

DGOC is the largest operational command within DISA and is responsible to operate and defend the outer boundary, mid-tier JRSS, and endpoint cyber defenses of the Department of Defense’s Information Network (DoDIN). It is also responsible for all DoD internet access points, email security against phishing attacks, operating and defending both the Big Data Platform known as Acropolis, and DoD’s G- Root infrastructure. The DGOC provides direct support to the White House, Pentagon, all Combatant Commands, Services and Agencies within DoDIN infrastructure. Multiple USCYBERCOM Cyber Protection Teams (CPTs) are also aligned to DGOC operations. The organization was recently named DISA’s Field Command of the Year.

COL Whittaker has served in various leadership positions beginning as the Charlie Company Extension Node Platoon Leader 304th Signal Battalion, 1st Signal Brigade in Hanam Shi, Republic of Korea. Upon completion of her tour, she was reassigned as the Headquarters and Headquarters Battery Executive Officer of XVIII Airborne Artillery, XVIII Airborne Corps in , . While at Fort Bragg, she also served as the Delta Company Executive Officer 50th Signal Battalion, 35th Signal Brigade. COL Whittaker attended her advanced course at the United States Marine Corps Command and Control Systems School (CCSS) in Quantico, Virginia. After completion of CCSS, she was assigned to the First Infantry Division where she served as the First Infantry Division Artillery Signal Officer and the Charlie Company Commander 121st Signal Battalion. Upon completion of company command, she was assigned as a Systems Engineer for the Global Infrastructure Division of the 742nd Military Intelligence Battalion, 704th Military Intelligence Brigade in Fort Meade, Maryland. Upon graduation from the Command and General Staff College in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, COL Whittaker was assigned as the Deputy G6 for at , . While assigned to the 101st Airborne Division, she deployed to Bagram, where she served as the Combined 101 Deputy Director CJ6 for Operation Enduring Freedom IX. Upon redeployment, COL Whittaker was assigned to the Joint Staff J-6 Command, Control, Communications and Computers Assessments Division (C4AD) in Suffolk, Virginia where she served as the Deputy Branch Chief for the Future Capability Assessments Branch. COL Whittaker served as Commander, 78th Signal Battalion, headquartered at Camp Zama, Japan followed by an assignment as the Europe G6 Operations, Plans, and Exercises Division Chief. Prior to taking command of DISA Global COL Whittaker attended the National Security Agency Cyber Fellowship for Senior Service College and served as a Cyber Technical Director for the United States Army Cyber Command in Ft Meade Maryland.
