The goal of the Company is to serve the farmers through innovative technology by providing the value added high quality seed. The company is promoted by Mr. Girish Patel, M.Sc. (Horti.), the company has spread its operations in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh with more than 65 hybrids/varieties in 35 crops. Company has recently applied for operation area expansion in Telangana and Chhattisgarh. Company having also plan for operation area expansion in Bihar, Orissa, West Bengal and North East state in coming recent year. Looking towards such a big leap of technology, company has entered into strategic MoA with leading world level organization like CIMMYT, Mexico for Corn. More than 82 hybrids are under trial at our company R & D farm. One step ahead company has also done MoA with world recognized institute ICRISAT, Hyderabad for Pearl Millet as well as Fodder bajara with high nutrient content in it, beside company has also tie up with Harvest Plus program, under this bajara having hi-zinc and hi-Iron content to fight against malnutrition. Company has also started a different R&D which can double the income of farmers as said by our honorable Prime Minister specially in terms of yield we have develop ideal plant type as double cob maize hybrids with synchronous maturity by this technology farmer get almost double yield, in same fashion company has started research in Mustard having double zero concept as erucic acid < 2% (Anti nutritional and glucosinolates<30 ppm (sulphur rich- anti nutritional) also fairly tolerant to shattering by this farmer can fetch double rate of this product and secure his income double. The goal of the Company is to serve the farmers through innovative technology by providing the value-added high-quality seed. Company is focusing mainly on crops like Cotton, Corn, Pearl Millet and Vegetable crops. The Company has several collaborations with institutes in South East Asia, SAU's and Israel for germplasm exchange and testing. Company has also going to apply for strategic MoA with another world recognized vegetable institutes like IIVR-Varanasi, IIHR- Bangalore or AVRDC-Taiwan. Regular testing of several vegetable and field crops hybrids in different locations of State Agriculture University for releases of hybrids/varieties Gujarat, Maharashtra. Company has set its very high parameter for seed genetically purity, seed physical purity and germination standard to meet 100 % germination by testing through several seed testing parameter like seed vigour test, seed floating test, seed treatment etc., and trying to give value addition through seed treatment for virus tolerance in vegetables. AlpGiri Seeds has also started their journey on second vision of feed technology i.e., nutrition business by tie up for marketing with world class reputed company Cytozyme lab Inc. USA to serve better to their customers of high input cost crops. Company has been recognized by Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Ministry of science and technology, Government of India for its in-house R&D. But at 2003 I got good chance to did Ph. D. after my Ph. D I got god job in State GOVT as a Assistant Director in Dept. of Horticulture. Presently I am working as a Assistant Professor at Sheth D. M. Family background First of all I would like to thank god almighty who believes me for making a Buffalo keeper into Doctorate degree holder. My name is Dr. Ganta Koteswara Rao s/o Buli Apparao bangaramma born in a remote village of Mukkollu, Kirlampudi Mandal, East Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh state. I have four sisters and one brother a total of 8 members including parents and me. My family occupation is agricultural labour (Daily wages), economically very poor family background. Constraints Due to poor economical family background my parents were unable to send all of their children for corporate school education that’s why since first class to 12th standard I was studied in government hostels with free education. Limitations • Uneducated family • Remote village • Poor economical family background • No one is there for support and encouragement • Lower caste in the society • Sisters marriages etc. Difficulties I was average student in the class room till to the 10th standard and I came to know the importance of study, job and family from Intermediate onwards. Since my 1st class to 12th class I was studied in Telugu medium so when I joined B.Sc. (Hons.) Horticulture in Dr YSR Horticultural University, Venkataramannagudem I faced a lot of problem to understand the english so I decided to left the degree due to this problem but my seniors and teachers they encouraged me a lot to continue degree study. Finally, I received my result of hard work and lots of sacrifices during preparation time on 13th May, 2021. First, let me start with the small introduction of my family background, I belong to a socially respected and financially sound family. My father is a well established and renowned businessman in the field of Plant Nursery (A.M. Vashi Farm & Nursery, Navsari, Gujarat, India) and my mother is a home-maker with utmost dedication towards our home life. I have a younger brother who has currently completed his 12th Grade.
The two utmost important things which helps to achieve something is interest in what you are doing or pursuing and second is dedicated and planned goals in your life. Talking about myself, my interest towards this field was evident since childhood as I was brought up in the lap of rural and farm life. I was always curious to study about plants which can help me to reach my family business (Plant Nursery) to new heights. In Grade 12, I got 90% and I decided to opt for this course keeping in mind my interest and goals.
I got my admission in ASPEE College of Horticulture and Forestry in August 2016. From the start of course, I was motivated to learn something which can help me achieve my goals. I was regular in attending class, completed all my projects and practical in time with great enthusiasm. Talking about exams, I had always prepared from the start which helped me to get first in class throughout all the semesters. Yes, there had been a days which brought me down but it was self-belief and support of my near ones which kept me going towards my goal. Due to this self-belief and constant hardwork, I am a proud recipient of ASPEE Foundation Gold Plated Silver Medal for obtaining highest Overall Grade Point Average (9.10/10.00) in B.Sc. (Hons.) Horticulture and Late Shri Bhulabhai Karsanji Patel Gold Plated Bronze Medal for securing highest Overall Grade Point Average in B.Sc. (Hons.) Horticulture in the 16th Annual Convocation held on 9th February 2021. Today, I can proudly keep my head up for achieving my goal.
Talking of support from professors of NAU, I have always received great support from all the professors. They were always ready to solve the doubts and lend a help. They were always friendly and besides academics, they helped me to shape my life for real world. All the professors from which I got the lectures and practical have very good subject knowledge which helped me to understand the topic with an ease.
At present, I have joined my family business and have started working to take my nursery to new heights. I have learnt many things from the business and constantly learning more and more each day. I am now realizing what this industry is and it surely has a scope and bright future.
For this achievement, I am very grateful and thankful to my parents, family, best friends and specific seniors and all the teachers who always helped me, supported me and believed in me.
