Media Release Adam Giles Chief Minister of the Northern Territory Peter Styles Minister for Young Territorians It’s all about that BASS 22 May 2015 Darwin’s dry season entertainment calendar is about to get a hit of BASS tomorrow with a top-class music line-up featuring at the People’s Choice Credit Union BASSINTHEGRASS Music Festival. “This year’s BASSINTHEGRASS has proved extremely popular and once again looks like being a sell- out,” Chief Minister Adam Giles said. BASSINTHEGRASS Music Festival is a twelve hour all ages festival featuring the best in Australian and Territory Music. “The Northern Territory Government knows how popular BASSINTHEGRASS is with young people and is committed to supporting the event, which attracts a crowd of 7,500 music fans each year.” Minister for Young Territorians Peter Styles said festival goers would have an opportunity to see the some of the hottest acts in Australian music here in our very own backyard. “Adelaide hip hop kings Hilltop Hoods will be joined by rockers Birds of Tokyo, Illy, internationally acclaim duo Flight Facilities, Sheppard, The Preatures, Thundamentals, Kingswood and Kid Mac,” Mr Styles said. “BASSINTHEGRASS 2015 will continue its strong tradition of supporting local Territory acts and Darwin rock band Roymackonkey, hip hop act Tha Trigger will add a local flavour to the program. “I’m thrilled to see Territory Battle of the School Bands winners Palmerston’s Champagne with Mary Jane and duo Jarrod and Prayer make an appearance at BASSINTHEGRASS.” BASSINTHEGRASS is proudly presented by the Northern Territory Government which supports the event with a $380,000 grant. A limited number of $100 walk-up tickets have been released early and are now available through www.bassinthegrass.com.au and NT Major Events Company. .
