Lauren Moss Minister for Tourism and Culture The 2017 People’s Choice BASSINTHEGRASS line-up revealed 13 February 2017 Minister for Tourism and Culture Lauren Moss today unveiled a stellar line-up for the 15th Annual People’s Choice BASSINTHEGRASS to be held at the Darwin Amphitheatre. Minister Moss said 2017 People's Choice BASSINTHEGRASS line-up includes in alphabetical order: Amy Shark, Boo Seeka, John Butler Trio, L D R U, Peking Duk, The Rubens, Tash Sultana, Thundamentals and The Veronicas plus local artists and Battle of the School Bands still to be announced. “The Territory Labor Government is proud to support BASSINTHEGRASS through $490,000 of annual funding, understanding the role festivals play in making Darwin a vibrant city.” Ms Moss said. “BASSINTHEGRASS was a Labor Government initiative to provide the same access to quality Australian music as the rest of the country. “BASSINTHEGRASS is a highlight of the dry season for many local music fans of all ages and first release tickets are now on sale for $70 so I urge fans to grab their tickets now as last year they sold out two weeks prior to the event. “It also provides the perfect opportunity for visitors to come to Darwin, with 10% of festival goers traveling from interstate, boosting the Territory economy. “This year we are excited to announce triple j is on board in supporting the event. This involvement puts us on the national stage bringing BASSINTHEGRASS to a wider audience. “I would like to congratulate Amy Shark coming in at No 2 on the Triple J Hottest 100 countdown with her hit single ‘Adore’ along with Tash Sultana coming in at No: 3 with ‘Jungle’. “We are absolutely thrilled to have this calibre of entertainment perform at the 2017 People’s Choice BASSINTHEGRASS.” In 2017, the event will also introduce a VIP area for a greater festival experience. It will include a shaded area on the hill, with drinks and finger food, a private bar and bathrooms, fun furnishings, and its own unique souvenir ticket. Second release tickets will be $100 and limited VIP tickets are $190 (aged 18+) .
