You know what you are doing but nobody else does.” ― Steuart Henderson Britt, Marketing Management and Administrative Action Companies spend thousands of dollars every month to place their advertising on these billboards. Usually they do not get return of investments, because the excessive amount of billboards makes the companies that advertise work on quantity not quality. Of course, if one uses half of the billboards of Yerevan, they will achieve their result, because the billboards that are positioned effectively will give a result and those which are positioned in a wrong place, will be a waste of money. To help marketing companies and businesses to make competent decisions, a research will be conducted. Answering the proposed research question will help advertisers and advertising agencies to optimize their work. People who seek means of advertising and cannot choose a proper tool will have a better understanding of the effectiveness of outdoor advertising. The research serves as a teaching material to marketing or advertising companies to learn more about the selection of advertising channels creation of a good message and to plan their media marketing campaigns accordingly. The marketing and advertising industry is rapidly moving itself into the internet and digitalizing the practice. It is vital to understand which traditional marketing and advertising channels are relevant nowadays to the advertisers and marketing professionals. Some practitioners consider some usual channels irrelevant and that those do not possess any common sense due to the fact that the internet industry and technology are developing very fast and it is easier to reach the potential audiences there. -

The Report provides a summary of the mass media monitoring under the study of the human rights situation within police-citizen relations carried out by the HCA Vanadzor1, as well as the legal assessment of the police actions against the electricity price hike protesters and the actions taken by the HCA Vanadzor to protect the rights of the protesters. Chronology of Electricity Price Hike Peaceful Protests and Police Actions In May 2015, the Electric Networks of Armenia applied to the Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) to raise the electricity rate by 17 AMD. Later, on June 17, the Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) unanimously decreed to raise the electricity rate. Accordingly, starting from August 1, 2015, the daytime electricity rates should have raised from the current 41.85 AMD per kW/h to 48.78 AMD, and the nighttime ones – from the current 31.85 AMD to 38.78 AMD. On June 19, 2015, the No to Plunder (Armenian: „Voch Talanin‟) civic initiative2, considering the people's demand, started a sit-in in the Liberty Square urging to immediately defer the illegal decree on raising electricity rates.3 On June 22, the protesters moved to Baghramyan Avenue. At the start of the assembly, its organizers announced several times that the assembly was absolutely peaceful and presented the legal grounds for the peaceful assembly. -

the real anD/as representation TV, viDeo, anD Contemporary art in armenia angEla harutyunyan reality versus representation: the authentiC reality of a pure revolutionary Action In late 1991, only a few minutes before the New Year, people in Armenia who greeted the New Year in front of their television sets witnessed a televised coup-d’état. While the well-known news anchor Varoujan Olqinyan sat tied to his chair, religious nationalist opposi- tional leader and former Soviet political dissident Paruyr Hayrikyan announced that he was carrying out a coup and that most govern- mental bodies had already fallen under his control. This was a tele- vised spectacle; moreover, it was an artistic performance conceived by one of the most prominent conceptual artists in Armenia, Grigor Khachatryan, and executed by the politician.1 As a unique instance of an artistic action as a political action, or a political action conceived by an artist as a conceptual gesture, the event was aimed at being trans- formed into a real coup in order to overthrow the newly formed govern- ment of independent Armenia.2 Shortly afterward, the government broadcast an announcement assuring the public that there had not been a real coup attempt. The referendum would essentially convert the governmental system from Ssemi-presidential into a parliamentary republic, depriving the president of his main powers and rendering him a ceremonial figure. State authorities cited the ever-increasing need to enhance the political system and strengthen the opposition as justification for the reforms. However, the opposition and many citizens saw the move as an attempt to perpetuate current president Serzh Sargsyan’s “reign” after the end of his second (and last, according to the old constitution) term in 2018. The referendum was held on December 6, 2015 and passed with 66 percent of the vote, although the watchdog groups Citizen Observer Initiative and European Platform for Democratic Elections pointed to election violations such as ballot stuffing, intimidation, violence, and vote-buying and qualified the referendum as illegitimate. The current president will keep his full power until April 2018, after which the new constitutional provisions on presidential entitlements and powers will come into effect. Despite Sargsyan’s public statements that he will not seek a top government post at that time, many political observers are certain that he will be able to remain in actual power as the head of the ruling Republican party (assuming it preserves its majority in the next parliamentary elections). -
