A Remembrance of Faith Petric We all enjoyed her renditions of songs old and new, traditional and modern, serious and playful. She appreciated the folk process, as was apparent from her SingOut column, and at sings. At one gathering she sang the poignant Steve Sellors' "The Good in Living", and asked for the words when I added a cute verse by Charlie Roth.... If lovers never shared a bed. If on rich, sweet foods we never fed. We'd leave life's pleasures for the dead and lose all taste for.....chocolate ! Yes, as the chorus says, "And all of life plays like a tune. It sounds so sweet and ends too soon...." How true. And even after 98 years it can seem too soon. We'll miss her. -Sol Weber - 4 - Topical Listing of Society Events For details of current events see pages 2-3 Weekends Feb. 7-9: Winter Folk Music Weekend, at HVRS; flier online at: www. folkmusicny.org/WinterWeekend_2014.pdf May 23-26: Spring Folk Music Weekend, at HVRS - save the dates!
