02 JAN 20

EGOQ AD 2.21 - NOISE ABATEMENT PROCEDURES Noise abatement procedures at RAF Valley (if appropriate) are as follows:

a. Avoid local area villages where possible. In particular, Valley, Rhosneigr and Lake Maelog.

b. Visiting aircraft are to break level at 1000ft and reheat must only be used when operationally essential. Flypasts will only be permitted with the prior approval of the Stn Cdr or OC Ops Wg.

EGOQ AD 2.22 - FLIGHT PROCEDURES  Procedures for in bound aircraft: All traffic inbound to Mona should call Valley Approach on either266·125 or 1

 125·225 and fly as directed.  Departures: All aircraft departing Mona will be briefed by RAF Mona Local Controller for 2 their departure. Once airborne contact Valley Radar on 269·100 or 125·225  and fly as directed. Radio Communication Failure: In the event of RCF aircraft are to turn the shortest way onto North, climb 3 to 2500ft QFE and contact Valley App. 4 Missed ApproachProcedure: Nil. 5 Aerodrome Operating Minima: Nil.

 6 Instrument Approach Procedures: Nil.

EGOQ AD 2.23 - ADDITIONAL INFORMATION 1. The primary operational task at this airfield is high intensity flying training. Therefore, visiting aircraft are only accepted on the following conditions:

a. During Flying Training School (FTS) day flying periods; Acceptance is strictly PPO. Civil pilots must hold at least an IMC rating. All visiting aircraft should arrive with a minimum 15 minute ‘hold off’ fuel to cover delays during busy FTS periods.

b. During FTS night flying periods: No visiting aircraft normally accepted.

2. Arrival procedures (General):

High intensity flying training (High energy general handling maneouveres) takes place over North . Pilots at medium or high level, regardless of contact with London Mil, should call Valley Approach at 30nm and, if possible, maintain VMC at a Quadrantal flight level. To expedite recovery, clearance will normally be given for a VMC descent to MSFL before radar identification but, if unable to maintain VMC, a higher FL should be requested until identified.

3. Arrival procedures (Visiting aircraft).

a. Civil. Practice procedures are not permitted. Aircraft will be directed as required to complete a single approach to land. Aircraft may be required to complete a mandatory Instrument Approach if FTS flying intensity so dictates.

b. Military. Jet aircraft landing on Rwy 04/22, will normally be cleared for a run-in and level break at 1,000ft QFE. Alternatively, a straight-in (instrument or visual) approach will normally be approved on request. Visual circuits are not permitted except following a balked approach/landing.

4. Departure procedures for visiting aircraft.

Departure clearance will be given on RT taking into account, whenever possible, previously requested climb-out requirements.
