Mit ein paar Impressionen von der Premiere des Kinofilms DIE KIR- CHE BLEIBT IM DORF, zu der wir am vergangenen Mittwoch ein- geladen waren, möchten wir uns in den Sommerurlaub verabschieden. S ist wie fast jedes Jahr: erst wenn alle Anderen ihren Urlaub schon absolviert haben, sind wir dran. Aber so ein richtiger Urlaub ist das eigentlich gar nicht. Nichts von we- gen faul am Strand liegen und sich Filme in HD auf dem Smartphone reinziehen! Das Fantasy Filmfest Fotos (c) 2012 by Wolfram Hannemann steht bereits vor der Tür und wird uns wieder eine ganze Woche lang von morgens bis spät in die Nacht hinein mit aktueller Filmware ver- sorgen. Wie immer werden wir be- müht sein, möglichst viele der prä- sentierten Filme auch tatsächlich zu sehen. Schließlich wird eine Groß- zahl der Produktionen bereits kurze Zeit nach Ende des Festivals auf DVD und BD verfügbar sein. Und da möchte man natürlich schon vor- her wissen, ob sich ein Kauf lohnen wird. Nach unserer Sommerpause werden wir in einem der Newsletter wieder ein Resümee des Festivals ziehen. Sentendosi rifiutata, Jenny/G-Girl scatena le furie della sua ira superpotente, nel tentativo di mettere i bastoni tra le ruote a Matt e alla collega Hannah Lewis (Anna Faris), con cui l’uomo ha avviato una relazione. Matt ha spezzato il cuore di Jenny. Ora, Jenny è decisa a distruggere tutto ciò che riguarda il suo ex. Ivan Reitman è uno dei cineasti di maggiore successo di tutti i tempi. Über Images interpretieren und konstruieren Menschen ihre Sichtweisen der Welt, wie die allgegenwärtigen Bilder der in die Türme des Word Trade Centers stürzenden Flugzeuge am 11. September 2001 verdeutlichen. Der vorliegende Beitrag beschäftigt sich mit den Modi der Repräsentation der Attacken vom 11. September im Hollywood Film und deren Gebrauch als politisches Instrument am Beispiel der Filme „United 93“, „World Trade Center“ und „The Path to 9/11“. _______________________________________________________________________ The September 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center in New York and on the Pentagon near Washington, D.C. were shocking global media events that dominated public attention and circulated spectacles of terror that generated fear and even panic. These media spectacles were intended to terrorize the U.S., to attack symbolic targets, and to promote Jihad against the West, as well as to undermine the U.S. and global economy. The World Trade Center (WTC) is an apt symbol of global capitalism in the heart of the New York financial district, while the Pentagon stands as an icon and center of U.S. military power. 1 Powerful media spectacles help shape social memory, constructing individual’s views of history and contemporary reality. 2 Resonant images help construct how people see and interpret the world, and the oft-repeated images of airplanes hitting the World Trade Center, the buildings burning and then collapsing, and piles of rubble left in their wake were among the most compelling images ever witnessed by global media culture.
