We are proud to prepare graduates for many of northern Minnesota’s most in-demand, well-paid and rapidly growing careers.

I hope you will use this planner throughout the year as your guide to the activities and resources that will help you make the most of your education. Clearly COVID-19 has impacted our lives and we want you to be successful both online and on campus as a student. We know you have had to adapt to a changing world and we know you will adapt in ways that will help you be the best student you can be. Remember the Student Success Center is there to help you reach your goal of graduation. The use of tutors and other resources is a smart step in your academic success.

I hope and expect you will always find plenty of friendly people at NTC and know the door to our administrative offices is always open to you. Our campus commitment is to a welcoming, safe and inclusive environment as we value diversity and strive to be culturally responsive.

If you want or need to see me, don’t hesitate to make an appointment and I will meet with you as soon as possible. In the meantime, I hope we cross paths in the hallways, in The Roost, the Student Success Center or in one of your classes.

Thank you for being part of the NTC family!

Darrin Strosahl Vice President for Academic Affairs

STUDENT CENTER FOR DIVERSITY, EQUITY & INCLUSION Opened at Bemidji State University in 2017, the Student Center for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (SCDEI) supports students and employees of both BSU and NTC by serving as a hub for student organizations and campus activities that support and celebrate diversity. For example, in January 2018, six students participated in a Diversity Panel in the Community Commons, sharing stories about how their backgrounds and experiences have influenced their lives as college students. Watch for announcements of upcoming events. For more information, contact SCDEI Coordinator Dr. Ye “Solar” Hong at (218) 755-3773 or ye.hong@ bemidjistate.edu.

Housing options include traditional double and single rooms, as well as a variety of suites and a new multi-unit apartment building called University Heights, which opened in 2016. Plus, Cedar Apartments are an affordable option for single parents and their children.

As part of their housing fees, NTC students also get free admittance to all BSU musical performances and home, non-hockey athletic events and are eligible to purchase single-game or season hockey tickets at a low student rate.
