NSIC Offensive Player of the Week

#4 Craig Bagnell (QB, 5-10, 185, Jr., Polson, Mont. / Polson HS) University of Mary

Craig Bagnell carried the University of Mary to a 31-25 win over Augustana, throwing for a career-high 407 yards and four scores. The junior signal caller completed 30-of-49 pass attempts and threw just one pick. The total attempts and completions are career highs for Bagnell and the touchdown passes equals his best figure. The U-Mary team captain completed passes to eight different receivers and his touch- down tosses were spread among three different players. Bagnell became just the third Marauders quarterback to pass for more than 5,000 yards in his career…. Tyler Steffan (WR, 6-4, 210, Sr., Dickinson, ND / Dickinson) caught 10 passes for 154 yards and two scores. This is the second straight week he had reached triple digits in receiving yardage.

NSIC Defensive Player of the Week

#6 Jared Curry (LB, 6-1, 200, So., Ponca, Neb. / Ponca HS)

Jared Curry recorded a team-high 11 tackles with two sacks, one forced fumble and one fumble recov- ery to help Wayne State shut down Minot State 20-6 Saturday at Cunningham Field in Wayne. Curry had eight solo and three assisted tackles in the win along with two sacks for minus six yards.

NSIC Special Teams Player of the Week

#24 Tom Obarski (K/P, 5-11, 175, So., Burnsville, Minn. / Apple Valley HS) Concordia University, St. Paul

#24 Tom Obarski, in a game with a stiff 24-mile per hour wind, he blasted three consecutive fourth quarter touch- backs following Concordia scores, and another kick to the UMC 2-yard line to help bury UMC deep in their own territory. In the first quarter, he drilled a 54-yard punt out of bounds at the UMC 15 yard line. In the game, he had four kickoff touchbacks among his six kickoffs while delivering field goals of 28 and 31 yards. His 31-yarder put the game nearly out of reach at a 10-point lead with 2:04 to play. He also converted all four of his PAT’s for a 10-point performance. In his career, he is perfect inside of 40 yards (7-7) and is 42-43 on PAT’s. He’s made 75.0% (12-16) of his overall field goals with a long of 56.
