Our University
The Vinoba Bhave University, Hazaribag, Jharkhand is a state university established by act of Bihar State Legislative (Act. No. of 1992) on 17th of September 1992. It has it’s headquarter at Hazaribag, the divisional headquarter of North Chhotanagpur division of the state of Jharkhand.It is situated at a distance of 100kms from Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand. The university is imparting post-graduate teaching and research in Physical Sciences, Life Sciences, Earth Sciences, Medical Sciences, Humanities andTechnology.
The institution has well defined academic objectives, which form bedrock of its academic programmes. The institution has link with prominent industries like SAIL, LIC, CMRI etc and Technical Institutions like BIT Sindri, NIT Jamshedpur and host of other institutions of excellence and R&D laboratories.
The university strives for a healthy, interactive and understanding work environment as a part of strategies employed for faculty retention and staff development.
About the Department
The university has established University Department of Computer Applications in year of 2007. It is the first AICTE approved department of Jharkhand. After getting approval from AICTE the department has started Master of Computer Applications (MCA) from the academic year 2007.
In view of growing demand of IT professionals in the area of computer application, a compact course like Integrated MCA (BCA+MCA) course is need of the hour and in this direction the department has started this course from academic year 2016.

Objectives
An understanding and appreciation of the vital and pervasive role of information as an essential input in all developmental activities; A thorough insight in to all techniques of information handing with special emphasis on the application of information technology; Full comprehension of the global nature of information for proper cooperation and coordination among countries; and Necessary skills and information technology background for designing, implementing, operating and managing information system.

Description
1. MCA This course is intended to train graduate in Engineering, Science, Commerce with Mathematics as one of the subject in development and uses of software for different application. The major trust is on giving the students a sound background in programming, computing, business function and mathematics relevant to information technology.
2. Integrated MCA (BCA +MCA) The primary objective of the course is to initiate young minds into the world of computer applications and provide them with a solid grounding in the domain of software. The course structure envelops all aspects required by a successful IT professional and on completion of the course, students would be absolutely ready to face the challenges of a dynamic and challenging industry.
Eligibility and Admission Procedure
Eligibility Criteria
Pass or Appearing in BCA/ B.Sc.(IT)/Any Graduate with aggregate 50% and MCA having Mathematics as one of the subjects at 10+2 level or at graduation.
BCA and Pass in 10+2(Science/ Arts/ Commerce) with aggregate 45% marks and above Integrated MCA having mathematics/ Business Mathematics/ Computer Science/ I.P. as one of (BCA+MCA) the subject.
Note Final year students in respective qualifying examinations awaiting results can also apply.
Final year students who have not received the original certificates from the Universities/Boards will be admitted provisionally. Their admission will be confirmed subject to their passing the qualifying examination and obtaining minimum required marks mentioned above. The registration of the applicants not meeting the eligibility criteria will be cancelled. In such cases, fee will be forfeited.
Admission Procedure 1. Online For Online Application, visit official website www.vbumca.in and www.vbu.ac.in to follow all admission procedure. 2. Offline a) Application form may be obtained from the department by paying Rs.500/- (Rs. Five hundred only) for the course BCA/ Integrated BCA+MCA and Rs.1000/- (Rs. One thousand only) for the course MCA in form of D.D. in favour of Registrar, VBU, Hazaribag payable at Hazaribag or by the Challan (Available in Dept.). The duly filled in application form must be submitted in the department.
b) Application form may be downloaded from official website www.vbumca.in and www.vbu.ac.in. The duly filled in application form along with the of D.D. of Rs.500/- for the course BCA/ Integrated MCA (BCA+MCA) and Rs.1000/- for the course MCA in favour of Registrar, VBU, Hazaribag payable at Hazaribag is sent by post in the following address:
