Reporting AICRP Centre: APRRI & RARS, Maruteru.

Area covered: Seetanagaram. Korukonda, Pithpuram, and Gollaprolu.

Varieties grown: BPT 5204, PLA 1100, MTU 1061

Crop Stage: Tillering to PI stage.

Pest Status: Moderate incidence of leaf folder and BPH.

Jammu & Kashmir

Varieties grown: K series Varieties such as K343, Rusi (local name of Russian variety), and China variety at Rajouri; Basmati 370, Sharbati, Hybrid (Chatha); Basmati 370, Pusa 1121, Sharbati, Hybrid at Nagri/Parole.

Pest Status: Hispa Attack- up to 30-40% damage of leaves in Rajouri and surrounding villages Gundi bug damage followed by chaffy grains and secondary infection (ranging from min 2%- 10%). Gundi bug / grain sucking pest spots were visible in whole surveyed areas) Dead hearts & White ears (maximum 1-5% visible in some fields) Rat Damage (scattered causing loss up to 10-15% in some areas)

Other observations: Sheath Blight (Low), Brown spot (prevelant everywhere from very less to moderate at few locations), and Brown spot (prevalent everywhere upto 1-3

Other information: Leaf blast, neck blast, leaf spots, and sheath blight are prevalent. Weeds were also found dominating rice plants in paddy fields in some areas. Bird damage, rodent damage and lodging of the paddy crop was also noticed in some localities.

Area Covered: Mandya, Gandalu, Ullenahalli, Hemgaenahalli, Madaehakanahalli, Jaipura, Duddha hobli, Mallanayakanakatte, and Holalu in Mandya Taluq.

Varieties: Thanu Rajamudi, KRH-4, IR-64, BPT5204, BR-2655, Hybrids, gangavati Sona, KMT 149, and MTU 1001.

Crop Stage: Tillering.

Pest Status: Leaf Folder: Low to Moderate, Case worm: Low to Moderate, Thrips: Low (only at Mandya Research Farm), Rice horned caterpillar: Low at Holalu.

Varieties grown: Pusa44, Pusa Basmati 1121, Pusa121, PR124, PR126, and HKR47.

Pest Status: Leaffolder: Damage was below ETL level of 10% damaged leaves (0-7%). Stem borer: Damage was below ETL level of 5% dead hearts (o-5%). Hopper Burn: In some farmer’s fields the hopper burn by BPH was observed as small patches under shady places or in fields near road side (0-15 hoppers per hill).

Tamil Nadu

Reporting AICRP Centre: TNAU, Coimbatore.

Area covered: Coimbatore District, Thondamuthur block, Pattiyarkovilpathi, Satyanagar.

Varieties grown: White Ponni, Bhawani, CO-51.

Crop Stage: 25 DATat Pattiyarkovilpatti and 90 DAT at SathyaNagar.

Pest Status: Low damage (0-5%) by case worm and Low to moderate damage by Leaf folder (3-6%) at Pattiyarkovilpatti. Low to Moderate damage (5-9%) white ears due to YSB at SathyaNagar.
