YWCA is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. www.ywcastl.org Letter to the Community

Greetings!

Now more than ever, YWCA Metro St. Louis is on a mission. This year we witnessed the power of women speaking out as the #MeToo movement supported our sisters and brothers, enlightened the community, and sent a clear signal that the status quo was no longer acceptable. For more than a hundred years YWCA has worked for the safety, security and stability of women, including safety from sexual and domestic violence.

As you look through these pages, you will see how YWCA also is working for security and stability for our community, one woman, one family at a time. There are sharp economic and racial disparities in St. Louis that cannot be tolerated if St. Louis is to grow and prosper as a community of neighbors who care about one another as family. We are working to level the playing field with housing, education, employment and diversity training and we are getting impressive results.

As this important work continues we are grateful for all of you who stand side-by-side with us. Our Board of Directors, committee members, volunteers, partners and our donors join staf in working tirelessly for our mission. We honor that support by once again earning the Wise Giving Alliance Standards bestowed by the Better Business Bureau and continuing to carry the Seal of the Council on Accreditation. On behalf of our clients, we sincerely thank you for your support and invite you to use this Annual Report to the Community as further evidence of our determination to work for the good of our entire community!
