(May 31, 2011) – Team Pelfrey made history on Memorial Day weekend (May 28), scoring a one-two finish in Round Three of the Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear at Lucas Oil Raceway. Connor De Phillippi and Nick Andries not only gave the Florida- based squad a win and a runner-up finish at the famed Night Before the 500 event, but also led the way in every official session, setting a new mark for excellence in the highly-competitive junior formula car series. Given Team Pelfrey’s history at the most prestigious oval race in the world…the Indianapolis 500, combined with the team having already scored a win in 2011 (Round One in St. Petersburg), the stage was set for the two-car team to challenge for top honors when the Star Mazda series traveled to Indiana for the first oval race of the season. Setting the stage for what would ultimately be a record setting event, the Team Pelfrey duo of Andries and De Phillippi wasted little time showing their speed around the high-speed Lucas Oil Raceway oval, taking the top two spots during the three-hour promoter’s test on Friday evening. The trend of two Team Pelfrey entries topping the speedcharts continued on race day in Indiana, with De Phillippi just edging his teammate Andries in the opening practice run.

THE HAWKSWORTH CONVERSION -- JACK HAWKSWORTH TRANSFORMS HIS FOURTH POLE OF THE SEASON INTO HIS THIRD VICTORY IN STAR MAZDA RACE 1 AT THE TORONTO INDY Toronto, Canada / July 7, 2012 – Team Pelfrey driver Jack Hawksworth re-asserted his position in the 2012 Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear with his third victory from the pole in Race 1 of the Star Mazda double-header at this weekend's Toronto Indy. Controlling the race from flag to flag – despite a standing start that left two cars stalled on the grid and several race incidents resulting in full-course yellows – Hawksworth brought his #82 Team Pelfrey / TORGOEN Swiss Watches / EXA Networks Mazda home 0.295 second ahead of Zach Veach, who started 3rd in the #77 Andretti Autosport / K12 / Zakosi Data Backup Mazda, and 1.156 seconds ahead of Gabby Chaves, who started 7th in the #19 JDC Motorsports / CLARO / Marca Colombia / Tecpro Mazda. Chaves now has three podium finishes this season and moves up to third in the points; Veach has two podiums, with today's result his best so far. With former championship points leader Connor De Phillippi falling victim to an ill-timed rainstorm in qualifying that saw him start 15th and a traffic-congested race that saw him finish 7th, Hawksworth regains the lead in the championship battle with 166 points to De Phillippi's 153. "I was able to control the race and run the pace I wanted, even with all the yellows and re-starts," says Hawksworth, who set the fast lap of the race and thus won his second PEAK Performance pole award of the weekend.

WHERE TOMORROW’S STARS RACE TODAY In 2018, the vast majority of the Verizon IndyCar Series grid will be comprised of drivers who have come through the Mazda Road to Indy Presented by Cooper Tires ranks – one of the most successful driver development programs in the world. Alumni such as Scott Dixon, Tony Kanaan and Josef Newgarden will align with recent graduates including Gabby Chaves, Zachary Claman DeMelo, Jack Harvey, Ed Jones, Kyle Kaiser, Matheus Leist, Spencer Pigot and Zach Veach. The scholarship program for each series’ champion is unequaled anywhere in the world. OF LONG BEACH FIELD TRIPS FOR KIDS FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE WHO: Eight hundred fifty students from nine Los Angeles schools, 11 Long Beach schools, five Long Beach Parks, the Long Beach Boys & Girls Club and the Long Beach YMCA participated, along with IndyCar Medical and Safety Team member Dr. Goeff Billows, who is Medical Director for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and Indy Lights competitor, Spencer Pigot, from Indianapolis, on field trips at the 2015 Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach. The students were treated to Racers Who Care Quick Tips on Winning in Life life skills presentations made by pro-racers and motorsports professionals, based on their personal career experiences, and enjoyed racer-guided Paddock Tours to see the Tips being enacted in real life by race teams. Dr. Billows and Spencer Pigot participated in Quick Tips on Winning in Life presentations, sharing their favorite Quick Tips on Winning in Life based on their own personal experiences. The 10 race weekend field trips, were made possible by donations from the Grand Prix Association of Long Beach and by a grant from Long Beach-based William T. and Eileen L. Norris Foundation and were founded, organized and hosted by Racers Who Care, Inc. For Immediate Release: Team Pelfrey Shows Speed but Lacks Luck at Iowa Speedway NEWTON, IOWA (June 24, 2012) – Team Pelfrey challenged for the victory in Saturday evening’s sixth round of the Star Mazda Championship Presented by Goodyear at Iowa Speedway but ultimately had to settle for a best finish of fourth through the efforts of Petri Suvanto (LEFT). After qualifying second and slipping to fifth in the early stages, championship leader Jack Hawksworth charged hard through the second half of the race which was scheduled for 100 laps of the seven-eighths mile oval. He passed Connor De Phillippi for third place on Lap 24 and then whittled down a deficit of more than seven seconds to race leader and polesitter Sage Karam and closest rival Martin Scuncio to just a few car lengths by Lap 63. Competing in his only second-ever oval track race, the Englishman piled the pressure on Karam and Scuncio, only for all his hard work to end abruptly on Lap 79 when a failure which remains under investigation caused him to crash heavily in Turn Four. Hawksworth, who was unhurt in the incident, had set the second fastest lap of the race, merely 0.062s behind race winner Karam, and was classified 15th when the checkered flag was displayed. Teammates Suvanto and Gustavo Menezes also had made strong progress after being involved in an incident on the opening lap. Suvanto, who started third but was shuffled back to eighth at the start, moved into fifth on Lap 21 and inherited fourth following Hawksworth’s accident.
