Frisco is becoming a center for many athletic events in the North Texas area. It is home of the new Dallas Cowboys training center, has hosted the NCAA Division II men’s basketball national tournament and the Dr. Pepper Center, where the LSC meet will be held, is the home of the Dallas Stars. Jim Gandy, former Javelina football player, is the economic development corporation president for the City of Frisco. CONGRATULATIONS TO ROY Sandoval, outfielder for the Corpus Christi Moody High School baseball team, on making the Class 5A all-state tournament lineup. Sandoval has signed a national letter of intent with the Javelinas. THE TARLETON STATE Memorial Stadium renovation has begun and it will see the removing of the old artificial turf, which was installed in 2004, and will have a new CoolPlay surface by FieldTurf.
