  • BSM at Current Parent Alums Discuss Being “All In” at the School They Say Shaped Who They Are Today
ANNUAL REPORT ENCLOSED BSM at Current parent alums discuss being “all in” at the school they say shaped who they are today. Pgs. 4-5 Fall 2018 | Volume 45, Number 1 Photo Credit: Cory Ryan 239018_Crown_Shield_C.indd 1 11/1/18 6:40 PM Greetings Benilde-St. Margaret’s PRESIDENT’S | LETTER Families and Friends, All in. It’s a phrase every one of us has heard from time to time to suggest an intense level of dedication to an idea, person, task, process or even a school. Our November issue of the Crown & Shield illustrates the strong connection between the past, present, and a beautiful future at Benilde-St. Margaret’s. The stories and pictures demonstrate that through the decades, many of our Red Knight families have been “all in” at this school. This fall, we were able to capture a group of current students and their parents, all graduates, for our cover story picture. The size of the group was astounding; this fall 125 of our graduates had 147 students walking the halls at BSM. These families have invested in this Catholic education for their own children, certain that they are growing in “mind, body, and spirit.” This certainly aligns with an “all in” mentality. In the fall of 2017, BSM launched the Imagine. Innovate. Inspire. capital campaign focused on critical facilities and curricular updates along with building tuition assistance resources. Through the tremendous generosity of alumni, parents, and friends of BSM, the campaign has progressed and our students will enjoy modernized science labs along with a multi-use indoor amphitheater sometime this winter.

  • Dobber's 2010-11 Fantasy Guide
DOBBER’S 2010-11 FANTASY GUIDE DOBBERHOCKEY.COM – HOME OF THE TOP 300 FANTASY PLAYERS I think we’re at the point in the fantasy hockey universe where DobberHockey.com is either known in a fantasy league, or the GM’s are sleeping. Besides my column in The Hockey News’ Ultimate Pool Guide, and my contributions to this year’s Score Forecaster (fifth year doing each), I put an ad in McKeen’s. That covers the big three hockey pool magazines and you should have at least one of them as part of your draft prep. The other thing you need, of course, is this Guide right here. It is not only updated throughout the summer, but I also make sure that the features/tidbits found in here are unique. I know what’s in the print mags and I have always tried to set this Guide apart from them. Once again, this is an automatic download – just pick it up in your downloads section. Look for one or two updates in August, then one or two updates between September 1st and 14th. After that, when training camp is in full swing, I will be updating every two or three days right into October. Make sure you download the latest prior to heading into your draft (and don’t ask me on one day if I’ll be updating the next day – I get so many of those that I am unable to answer them all, just download as late as you can). Any updates beyond this original release will be in bold blue.

  • Serving Career and Technical Education Students in Minnesota
Career and Technical Student Organizations Serving Career and Technical Education Students in Minnesota 1 Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSO) provide exceptional experiences for students through experiential and applied learning when integrated into the classroom. Students gain knowledge, technical and employability skills that today’s employers demand. Leadership opportunities provided through CTSOs build their confidence, personal networks and future entrepreneurship. CTSOs add to our students’ education and success in Minnesota’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs. CTE provides our greatest collective opportunity to create a skilled, knowledgeable, and productive future workforce. Integrating CTSOs into those programs not only strengthens technical skills through workplace activities and competitive events; it empowers students through leadership activities. CTSOs have served students for over 70 years. Minnesota is proud to be a part of that tradition. The Minnesota State Colleges and Universities, the Minnesota Department of Education and Minnesota Foundation for Student Organizations support: DECA and Collegiate DECA, Business Professionals of America (BPA) High School and BPA College, Family Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), Agricultural Education FFA and Post Secondary Agricultural Education (PAS), Health Occupations Student Association (HOSA) and SkillsUSA High School and SkillsUSA College. As our graduates enter the workforce, we must ensure they have had the opportunity to develop and refine the skills in their occupational area. We must ensure they are professional and they are prepared. Career and Technical Student Organizations will ensure they are equipped to meet the demands of America’s workforce. Resilience in action f you want to see the definition of Iresilience in action, look no further than public school districts and their communities — especially Mounds View Public Schools. As a result of the COVID- pandemic, schools unexpectedly closed to limit the spread of coronavirus, and students never returned to classrooms after spring break. The spring athletics and activities season was canceled along with proms, field trips and traditional graduation ceremonies.
