SUPERINTENDENT CELEBRATES

“ECPS FIRST ANNUAL COLLEGE ‘Declaration Day.’”

Tappahannock, VA, May 1, 2014 – ECPS Superintendent Dr. Scott Burckbuchler has declared May 1st, 2014 “ECPS First Annual College ‘Declaration Day’” aimed at celebrating the accomplishments of EHS Seniors who have been accepted into colleges and universities.

Traditionally, May 1st is deposit day at colleges and universities across the country.

Dr. Burckbuchler states: “As we continue to move toward a culture that celebrates student achievement, we wanted to take some time to celebrate the accomplishments of some of our senior class who will attend some very fine colleges this fall.”

Among the schools that students gained acceptance were:

Declared seniors joined in the EHS Commons Area for a celebration and refreshments. Seniors who plan on attending college next year were encouraged to wear t-shirts or colors from their chosen schools. ECPS faculty and staff supported the seniors by wearing gear from their schools as well.

Dr. Burckbuchler shared: “We are extremely proud of our seniors who will be attending college next year. It shows that ECPS is preparing our students for life-long success.”
