ISLE OF MAN The Easter Rugby Festival was one of the most cnjoyablc cver held and was changcd to incl udc a 15 a side competition as weil as the popular scvens, the Ulst er Bank won the former and the Royal Navy, Scolland Ihe laller. The highlights of thc Island season were wins against Blackrock and Inslonians and the final gaille against the full RAF side. who were victorious in the presence of the President of the R.F.U .. the gucst of at a dinner in Ihe evening. There are seven Clubs on the Island and they welcorn e visiting [eams and can orrer friendly and reasonably priced accommodation. INDIVIDUAL MEMBERS The subscription incorne from Individu al Mcrnbers has reachcd a new high level and helps the COUill Y in il S youth policy. Mernbers will have free enl ry ta three hOllle games next season as we il as 10 thc finals of the Iladdingtans' Cheshire Cup. the Plate and the Shield . T he lndividual Members' bar will al"o be :wailable and Mcrnbers have the apport unit y ta apply for Imcrnational tickets through the County. SENDING OFF THE FIELD OF PLA Y Unfortunalely the number of players senl off Ihis season is at an ail time record and is quite di slll rbing. Four Clubs, who had poor disci plinary nx:ords, have met Coumy Officiais ta discuss their problems and they ma)' yet be called 10 Twickenham ta answer to the R.F.U. It is the dut)' of ail clubs ta monitor the behaviour of their players on the fie ld and ta illiroduce Iheir own codes of disci pline. A charge of f5.00 is made on Clubs for eacll case to help defray expenses. NORTH WEST LEAGUE The Cheshire Clubs enlhusiaslica ll y supponcd the R.F.U. pilaI scheme of league rugby football in the North West. It has been very successful and weil reccived by the Cluhs. We congratulate Winnington Park on being the Champion Club and Mid·Cheshire Col1ege and Wirral who were Ihe top Clubs in Di vision 2. In season 1987-88 league football wi ll go national and ail Clubs in Ill elll bershi p of the R.F.U. will be invited 10 participale.
