‘Peter Pan in Scarlet’ for Key stage 2 Years 3-6, ages 7-11 Using imagination Choose a character from Peter Pan in Scarlet and imagine the story (or part of the story) from their point of view. For example: • Peter Pan. Once Peter Pan has discovered Captain Hook’s second-best coat and decided to wear it, he morphs into a form of Captain Hook, growing long dark curls, inheriting his bad temper, and speaking like a pirate! The story centres around the idea that clothes maketh the man. Only when he removes the coat does he become himself again. Equally, when Ravello wears the coat, he is hardened and returns to the form of Captain Hook, and not the travelling, ravelling man. What is going through Peter’s mind as he morphs into Hook? • Ask your children to write letters from one of the characters to another, ie: Wendy Darling in Neverland, to her daughter Jane in London. • Tootles Darling: As an adult, Tootles is a portly judge who loves his moustache and believes everything can be solved judicially. Tootles only has daughters, so in order to return to Neverland like his fellow Old Boys, he must dress like a girl in his daughter’s clothes! This is fine with the female Tootles, who dreams of becoming a princess and a nurse, and marrying Peter, and become Tootles Pan! Imagine what it must be like for Tootles to suddenly become a girl! Ask your pupils to discuss this – both the girls and the boys. Creative and descriptive writing • Write a book review Ask your children to write a short book review on Peter Pan in Scarlet. -

Shattered Moments: The Fall from My 30-Foot Pedestal Brooke McKenzie Sroufe Faculty Advisor: Margaret Sartor Graduate Liberal Studies April 2015 This project was submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Arts in Graduate Liberal Studies in the Graduate School of Duke University. Copyright by Brooke McKenzie Sroufe 2015 Abstract Part One of my final project consists of a series of creative non-fiction stories detailing a traumatic accident I experienced in 2009. The stories examine my physical and emotional recovery. I have also written stories about my strongest childhood memories to explore the events that helped shape the beliefs I held at the time of my accident. The stories are not linear, but span from my childhood to the three years following my accident. Through these stories, I hope to contribute to greater conversations about trauma, emerging adulthood, and identity— particularly among young people. Part Two of the project analyzes the question of trauma and the necessity of narrative following trauma. I break this section of the project into three short essays addressing different aspects of trauma and narrative: a history of trauma, the need for memoir, and posttraumatic growth. I reference three larger works within these essays and relate the authors’ arguments and theories to my traumatic experience and to the process of writing my stories. In addition to these written parts, I include personal photographs throughout the project. These pictures, like my stories, are not linear. They are visual pieces of my shattered life puzzle, showing me before and after my fall from the 30-foot pedestal I’d created for myself. -

Your request was received on 24 June 2019. You have asked a number of questions, which we set out below. To the extent that you have asked for recorded information which is held by Ofcom, we have considered those requests in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (‘the Act’). Your questions: “1) Full reasoning and explanation as to why Ofcom ruled against complaints relating to the showing of the 'Leaving Neverland' documentary aired by Channel 4 on 6/3/19 and 7/3/19. 2) An explanation as to why Ofcom failed to act on the large number of public complaints about this programme, which was clearly exposed as a 'witch hunt' against an individual who can no longer defend himself even before the programme was aired, full of lies and inaccuracies. 3) What investigation was carried out by Ofcom in relation to the complaints made against the programme? 4) Since these complaints of standard and factual inaccuracy were submitted to Ofcom, what procedures were carried out by Ofcom in order to ascertain whether further investigation was required? 5) Since at least several complaints were made with specific reference to Ofcom's own Code of Conduct (which the programmes clearly breached on numerous occasions), why did Ofcom adjudicate against these complaints and in favour of a programme which material and ethos was in breach of said Code of Conduct? 6) All correspondence, documents, notes, reports and transcripts of any telephone calls, and all e-mails relating to the enquiry into the 'Leaving Neverland' programmes”. -
