Troubleshooting

Trouble shooting setup problems

Setup can not detect the hard disk.

If the Setup Summary or Custom Setup does not display any hard drives or partitions been detected on your computer, this could be caused by a RAM disk, ZIP drive or USB drive. They are sending mixed signals to the setup program. Remove the auxiliary device, and try the setup again. If it is still not able to detect the hard drive, stop setup and call for technical support.

Subsystem fails to load, computer freezes with a black screen.

After running setup in the Windows, the system is restarted. During restart cycle, the computer freezes on a black screen before Subsystem Console even loads. To fix this problem, select Remove Rollback Rx from the Recovery Console menu and then restart the computer. The computer should start up now. Once you are back into the windows, check to see if the NTFS drive is compressed. If so, decompress the drive and try setup again. If not, contact the technical support for assistance.
