Kunj Dedhia, IBDP Grade XII student was selected to be part of Team Intel International India to represent India at the Intel ISEF 2017 in Los Angeles, USA, from Science & May 14 to May 19, 2017. 3 Engineering Fair Team India won the Intel ISEF. Kunj secured the Fourth Award at the ISEF (Intel ISEF) Grand Awards. He developed a smartphone application based on user feedback for cyclists to reduce incidence of lower back pain.

Bhuvam Patel, IBDP Grade XII student, was recently chosen to be a part of an International Team working in Zhiyan Village in China, under the local Government, to promote sustainable rural Tourism in Lanxi County. Bhuvam Rural Tourism 4 worked with the Chinese Municipal Corporation in ground work projects to Ambassador promote tourism in rural China. Bhuvam also featured in local news for his work in the village project in India and was presented with the position of Charity and Tourism Ambassador for Zhiyan Village

Kaira Sheth (Class VI-A) has topped Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Exams, UK Royal Academy of and was inducted into a pre- professional Ballet Programme last year. This year, 5 Dance (UK) to advance her training, Kiara has decided to accept the offer of her dream Examination School ‘Paris National Opera” to study Ballet under the able guidance of the Legendary Director, Elisabeth Platel.

As part of Round Square International Service programme, a specific leadership training opportunity for selected student(s) of our school. The opportunity is The Round Square particularly targeted towards a student(s) who is likely to be in their 6 Big Build Tanzania penultimate year and who take on a key leadership role in the school in their Project final year and would therefore benefit from this global leadership development opportunity. Three students from DAIS Class XI participated in this project.

Tejas Ramdas (Class of 2017- IBDP) and Adhyyan Sekhsaria of Class XI represented India in the first Global Olympics style competition in Robotics at New York. The competition is going to be held at a global Level with 160 First Global countries participating in this first Inaugural year of FGC 2017. This competition 7 Competition (FGC) aims at generating interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and (Robotics) Technology amongst youth.

Tejas Ramdas won Gold, and Adhyyan Sekhsaria won Bronze at this event.

The Rising Star Awards recognise the amazing talent of women working in the UK. Sayli Chitre (Class of 2010), an Associate in Oliver Wyman’s London office, has been shortlisted in the 2017 We Are The City Rising Stars Awards in the Consulting category. 8 Rising Stars Award In addition to her role working for the firm’s Financial Services division, Sayli co- leads EMPOWERED UK – Oliver Wyman’s network for racial, ethnic, and cultural diversity. In her capacity as the network co-lead, she has driven a variety of initiatives across recruiting, internal community building, and providing reverse mentoring for senior management.

Suhani Jalota (Class of 2012) received the Queens Young Leaders Award for her work in Mumbai by her NGO –Myna Mahila Foundation which is a network of female entrepreneurs who produce and sell low cost high quality products for Queens Young 9 women. Their current goal is to make high quality sanitary pads and maternity Leaders Award pads and selling them at affordable rates in the slum communities. Suhani received this prestigious award from Her Majesty for India across the Commonwealth.

This award is one 1 for Exceptional of the three National Presidential Awards for the children of the state. The Achievement selection for this award is made by the National Selection Committee constituted by the Government of India

2 Poorvika Mehra (Class X-A) has been awarded ‘Merit Certificate’ by the Council for the Indian Council for the Indian school Certificate Examinations for her Essay written for School Certificate ‘The Albert Barrow Memorial All India Inter School Creative Writing Examinations Competition- 2016 . Poorvika’s essay has been adjudged to be the sixth best essay from all the students who took part across the country

The IRIS National Science Fair 2016 received large number of projects from IRIS National Science across the country. 3 Fair 2016 DAIS student -Kunj Dedhia won the IRIS Grand award.

Kunj Dedhia and Tejas Ramdas, both Grade XII students participated and secured First position at the National Championship of World Robot Indian Robot 4 Olympiad India 2016, in the WRO Football, Robo soccer Category. A three Olympiad (IRO)- 2016 member team of which two participants are from DAIS won the Third position in the National Championship of World Robot Olympiad India 2016

Green Olympiad is an Annual written Examination on environment initiated by The Energy and Resource Institute (TERI) in 1999. The examination is conducted by Sustainable Development Outreach and Youth education division of TERI and 5 The Green Olympiad attracts participation from lakhs of school students from India and Abroad. This year our school students gave a stellar performance in the Green Olympiad Examination with Raghav Agarwal of Class VIII- A was the topper of the school with 92%

National Science Talent Search Examination was conducted in the month of National Science December 2016. Our students have fared extremely well and a few of them have 8 Talent Search scored State and National ranks. Examination Siddhant Mukherjee achieved an All India National Rank of 15.

This debate competition is organised by the Council of Indian School Certificate The Frank Anthony Examination. The finals were held at the City Montessori School in Lucknow. The 9 Memorial All India topic was ‘Social Media provides a service by acting as its watchdog’. Our school ICSE Debate team comprising of Shivali Shah and Adarsh Sriram of Class X-A secured a Competition second position in the competition

The Safe Roads, Safer India challenge is part of a pilot being tested across India, with a focus on Bangalore, the country’s third-largest city. It was launched earlier this year to increase public awareness of road safety challenges, crowd- source solutions and accelerate the rate of positive change. This event was UL Safer Roads safer 10 conceptualized by UL (Underwriters Laboratories), a premier global India challenge independent safety Science Company Our student, Joshua Singh ( IBD Year 12) won the “ Youth Leader Award” for the UL Safer Roads Safer India, for showing exceptional leadership skill in the project, which was recognised as the best project of the Year

Saketaram Manikantan (UKG) participated and scored full marks in the LogiQids Logical Reasoning Competition. This competition is conducted for students of LogiQids Logical Senior kindergarten to Grade IX, Across 3 cities- Mumbai, Pune and 11 Reasoning Ahmedabad. The competition focuses on testing the general aptitude of the Competition 2016-17 students. DAIS is the top ranked School in terms of percentage of participating students, securing top three ranks across cities.

Nine students from our school took part in IRO held in the month of Indian Robot September. Four teams were formed from these nine students. Out of these 2 Olympiad (IRO)- 2016 four teams, Dhruva Sankhe’s Team from Class VIII-A came first at the regional level and also reached the top ten for the National round

Aviation Quiz was held at the Nehru Science Centre. Sahil Rane and Siddhant 3 Aviation Quiz Mukherjee of Class VIII-A participated and won the first place in the Rocket launching Event and also scored third place in the quiz.

Kaira Sheth (Class-VI-A) was declared joint City Winner and Gold Medalist at the All for Kids Inter- Elocution Championship. The City winner was declared from among seventy School Elocution 4 participants from top prestigious Schools of Mumbai Championship 2016- 17 This year’s theme was ’ FRIENDSHIP’

Our Students- Aman Nathani, Saloni Salwalka and Yashwini Sodhani (IBD- Year 12) brought laurels at the Inter School poetry Slam held at SAIACS CEO 5 Poetry Slam Centre at Bengaluru.
