Light: Needs bright direct or indirect light. A window with western exposure is ideal. Water: Water aloe infrequently, only about every 3 weeks. Do not let the plant sit in water. Bromeliad 4” Pot: $15.00 An extremely unique and tropical plant that is native to rainforests in . A relatively quick growing plant that requires more specific growing conditions compared to more low-maintenance plants. Light: Needs 6-8 hours of bright and direct light a day. Water: Keep soil dry inbetween waterings and water approximately once a day. Mist leaves 3-4 times a week. Large and patterned leaves make for an eye-catching variety. Light: Prefers medium and indirect light. May have to rotate plant to avoid a lopsided growth habit. Water: Can be touchy with water and should only be watered when top 2” of soil is dry. Droopy leaves signal more frequent waterings are needed.

Dracaena Plant 8” Pot: $30.00 Also known as the cane plant or corn plant, this tropical plant is slow glowing. Leaves are thin and pointy and the plant has an upright growing habit. Light: Needs filtered and indirect light. Avoid direct light to avoid the burning of leaves. Water: Requires less water than most plants. Mist the soil 1-2 times a week and mist the leaves 3-4 times a week.

Dwarf Umbrella Plant 4” Pot: $6.00 These tropical plants have unique leaves and relatively slow growing. They make an easy to care for plant in the household or office. Light: Prefers areas with lots of light and ideal light is filtered or indirect. Can tolerate soft direct light in morning/evening. Water: Prefers to be consistently moist which can involve watering 1-2 times a week depending on the size of the pot. Fern Plant 6” Pot: $20.00 are a common indoor plant that can be more challenging to care for depending on the conditions. A bushy plant that loves humidity. Light: Needs indirect or soft light. Windows with morning/evening light is ideal as midday light can burn the leaves. Water: The soil should be kept moist and watered consistently (about 1-2 times a week). The leaves also like to be misted 4-5 times a week to create the illusion of humidity.

Morning and evening light is best as midday light can scorch the leaves. Water: Prefers soil that is kept on the dry side so only water when the top of the soil is dry to the touch.

While it will take more care and maintenance than standard houseplants, you are able to grow your very own citrus. The room that it is in will want to be on the warmer side. Light: They love lots of bright light for as long as possible so a window facing southwest would be ideal. If the plant cannot get at least 6 hours of light in that window, you may need to provide supplemental light. Water: The soil likes to remain moist but never waterlogged. It is best to do infrequently but deep waterings rather than shallow but frequent ones. Nephthytis (Arrowhead) Plant 4” Pot: $6.00 The Arrowhead Plant is classified by its large leaves that end in a plant. As young plants they are bushy in shape but can develop climbing habits as they age. Light: These plants prefer medium indirect light. They can tolerate some direct light in mornings and evenings. Water: Water about once a week or whenever soul begins to dry. Prefers to be moist but never soggy.

A low-maintenance plant with large, dark leaves and bright white, shell-like flowers. Light: Prefers low light and has even been known to thrive off of fluorescent lights in rooms without windows. Water: Generally water once a week it is best to water when leaves begin to droop. – Green and Variegated 3” Pot: $3.00 – 4” Pot: $6.00 These tropical plants are extremely easy to care for and are relatively small. As a relative of the popular rubber plant, the peperomia has also been called a radiator plant. Light: Prefers medium to low light. Indirect light is best. Water: Water about once a week and allow soil to dry out before each watering.

Philodendron: Cordatum and Prince of Orange 4” Pot: $6.00 – 6” Pot: $20.00 The cordatum is a trailing variety with dark green and heart-shaped leaves. The Prince of Orange variety has lighter, more yellow leaves and has an upright growing habit. Both are relatively easy to care for. Light: Can thrive in a variety of light conditions. Indirect light is best. Prince of Orange should be rotated regularly for even growing habits. Water: Water about 1-2 times a week or whenever top 1-2 inches of soil dries out.

Pothos: Jade and Golden Varieties 6” Pot: $20.00 Extremely popular houseplant that is known for being very easy to care for! A tropical plant that and grows very quickly. Also a very easy plant to propagate in water. If you are a beginner at caring for plants indoors, this is the perfect plant to start with. Light: Can tolerate almost any level of light but prefers light that is bright and indirect. Water: Prefers to have dry soil between waterings. Water once a week and LOVES to be misted 3-4 times a week. The mist helps to create humidity on the leaves. Rex 4” Pot: $6.00 These come in a variety of colors with rounded leaves and bright patterns. Can grow outside in spring and summer but tend to grow more slowly when brought inside. Light: Prefers bright but indirect light. Can also be adapted to lower levels of light. Water: Water only when soil is dry and leaves begin to wilt. Water approximately once a week depending on pot size.

With sharp leaves and a quick growing habit, they also make for great air purifiers. Light: Can tolerate a variety of light conditions, but does best in bright and indirect light. Water: Water the snake plant sparingly. Roughly every 3-5 weeks depending on the pot size.

ZZ Plant ZZ plants are a fantastic plant to grow in households or offices because they are extremely low maintenance and can thrive in low light levels. A popular plant in hotels and malls. Slow growing but extremely easy to care for. Light: Can tolerate and thrive in any level of light. Performs the best in indirect or filtered light. Water: Watering largely depends on the amount of light it receives but generally should be watered every 1-2 weeks.
