Upon the departure of these newsmen last Friday, they both commented that they were very impressed with the Naval Base Guantanamo Bay and the people onboard. NBC plans to televise a five minute program on Mr. Quinn's visit here, sometime in the near future, on the Today Show and on the evening news. The Birmingham News is going to publish several articles on the necessity of Gitmo, its operations and its people. I want to thank everyone involved with the news media representatives in supporting this important visit and making our guests feel welcome. I believe the Navy and Marine Corps will benefit from this visit.
