they will be lacking In experience. ··•·::--..-.-... ucl u ucleus fo r this year's team will be all-conferencers Jack Robbins and Don "Dead Pan" Lockard; let termen Ray Hamilton, Harold Bra dy, and J im Benton; and reserve letterman ell Martin. Lockard is a brilliant forward whose playing is as consistent as the expression on his face. He led the conference in scoring last year. Robbins was the highest scor ing guard in the conference last season and exhibit ed a flashy floor game. Hamilton, Brady, and Benton, al though not particularly flashy, are consistent players of the first rank who get much less credit than is due them on their great defensive and team work. To aid this group of veterans will be three outstand ing performers from last year's frosh quintet. Thorpe, Eakin, and Hagood are all athletes of much ability who are expected to come through on the varsity. Another prospect from the freshman ranks is O. L. Curtis Jr., a Fayetteville boy. Co ncern Coach Rose expressed concern over the fact that some of the foot ball men on his squad may be in vited to play in one of the many New Year's day contests over the nation, thereby missing many days of practice and possibly some games. Most of the football men have been allowed a week's rest before reporting for the cage team. The schedule for this season in cludes two extra-conference oppon ents whom the Hogs have not played in recent years. They are ... that refreshing the Mississippi university and the Parks Clothing company team of mildness ... agreeable Oklahoma City. The conference schedule is as taste ... and delightful follows: Jan. 7- , Texas A&M at College Station; Jan. 11-12, Rice at aroma that smokers Houston; Feb. 4-5, TCU here; Feb. 11-12, Texas U here; Feb. 1 -19, find in Chesterfields is Baylor at Waco; Feb. 25-26, SMU here. -----•---- making new friends at tu dent Directory Di tribution Begun Distribution of the 1937-3 Stu every tur~fti/fif,t dent directory began Saturday morning.
