Sean Cassidy Former Special Agent, FBI

Sean Cassidy was born and raised in Pensacola, Florida. He attended Louisiana State University (LSU) and graduated from Troy State University (Troy) with a degree in Criminal Justice and minor in Public Administration. In 1980, after completion of the Florida Police Standards Training Academy, he served as a dispatcher and part-time police officer for the Pensacola Police Department, a police officer for the State of Florida and a deputy sheriff for the Escambia County (FL) Sheriff’s Department in Pensacola.

In February, 1988, he was accepted as a Special Agent in the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). After successful completion of training at the FBI Academy in Quantico, VA, he was assigned to the Pittsburgh Field Office, Beckley, West (WV) Resident Agency, the Los Angeles Field Office, The Knoxville Field Office, working a variety of investigations to include fugitive matters, bank robberies and National Security Matters, counter-terrorism matters, violent gang and drug investigations, and other violent crimes. He was promoted to Supervisory Special Agent in 2005 and to Unit Chief in 2007, working in the FBI’s Covert Operations Section. In 2011, he transferred to the Columbia Field Office and was assigned to the Joint Terrorism Task Force, investigating all terrorism matters in South Carolina. In 2012, he became the Human Intelligence Coordinator for the Columbia Field Office and was named the FBI’s South Carolina Infragard Coordinator, advising the SC Infragard Member’s Alliance Board of Directors and membership on a wide variety of issues.

In January, 2014, he retired after 26 years of service to the FBI and currently serves as the Treasurer for the SC Infragard Member’s Alliance.
