Whereas it is necessary for preventing danger, obstruction or inconvenience to the public in connection with the Police SDSL Half Marathon on 06.01.2019, I, Rajeev Kumar, Commissioner of Police, Kolkata, in exercise of powers vested in me under Section 115, 117, 122 and 126 M V Act, 1988 and Section 62, 62(1b) of Calcutta Police Act./ 39, 39(1b) of Calcutta Suburban Police Act read with Rule No. 85, 86, 87, 88 and 93 of Rules for the Regulations of Traffic in Kolkata and its suburbs and under sub-section (1) of Section 4 of the Traffic Regulations Act, 1965 (W B Act XV of 1965) read with Govt. of West Bengal Home (Transport) Department Order No. 7605-WT, dated the 20th July, 1965 and Govt. of West Bengal Transport Department Notification No. 3363-WT / 3M- 34/99, dated the 29th April, 1999, do hereby order that all classes of vehicles and all kinds of traffic including pedestrian traffic for the city of Kolkata shall be regulated in the manner prescribed below on the day.

1) Movement of all types of Goods Vehicles shall be restricted / regulated from the following roads within the city of Kolkata from 04.00 hrs to 12.00 hrs or till dispersal of crowd and / or completion of the Races on 06.01.2019.

(i) Vidyasagar Setu (City bound) (ii) R R Avenue (iii) AJC Bose Road (iv) Khidderpore Road (v) Esplanade Ramp (vi) AJC Ramp (vii) Khidderpore Ramp (viii) Surhawardy Avenue (ix) Darga Road (x) CIT Road (xi) J L Nehru Road (xii) S N Banerjee Road (xiii) Suresh Sarkar Road

2) The following roads on the Kolkata Maidan areas shall be closed to vehicular traffic as per the schedule mentioned below on 05.01.2019 and 06.01.2019 :-

(i) From 22.00 hrs on 05.01.2019 to 12.00 hrs or till completion of Marathon on 06.01.2019 -

a) Red Road.

(ii) From 04.00 hrs to 12.00 hrs or till completion of the Marathon on 06.01.2019 –

(a) Khidderpore Road (b) Casuarina Avenue (c) Lovers Lane (d) Queensway (e) Hospital Road (f) R R Avenue, southern flank (g) AJC Fly Over (Both flank) (h) Maa Fly Over (Both flank) (i) Esplanade Ramp from bifurcation point

(iii) From 06.00 hrs till completion of the Marathon on the following stretch of roads on 06.01.2019 –

(a) Surhawardy Avenue (b) Sundari Mohan Avenue (c) CIT Raod (d) AJC Bose Road from Fly Over to Mullick Bazar Crossing (e) S N Banerjee Road (f) Suresh Sarkar Road (g) Taltala Avenue towards South from Lenin Sarani Crossing (h) Mayo Road (as and when required)

3) South bound vehicles on Red Road shall be diverted along Mayo Road - Dufferin Road – Outram Road – J L Nehru Road.

4) North bound vehicles along J L Nehru will be diverted via Park Street Fly Over – Dorina Crossing

5) South bound vehicles along Rafi Ahmed Kidwai Road will be diverted towards East along Lenin Sarani.

6) South bound vehicles of C. R. Avenue shall be diverted from B B Ganguly Street (Bus/Mini Buses) and from G C Avenue crossing, as and when required

7) South bound traffic along Old Court House Street/Council House Street shall be diverted from Old Court House Street – B B D Bag South crossing, Govt. Place East – Esplanade Row East crossing and Govt. Place West – R R Avenue crossing, as and when considered necessary.

8) Since Surhawardy Avenue will remain closed the vehicles from Don Bosco Island towards 7 Point Crossing will be diverted via Darga Road – New Park Street – Congress Exhibition Road – Syed Amir Ali Avenue – 7 Point Crossing.

9) No vehicles will be allowed to move further South from Sealdah Fly Over side except emergency vehicles and buses of routes along CIT Road towards South.

10) No vehicles will be allowed to move along Taltala Avenue towards South from Lenin Sarani Crossing to S N Banerjee Road.

11) North bound traffic along AJC Bose Road will be restricted / diverted from Mullick Bazar Crossing.

12) East bound traffic along AJC Bose Road will be diverted from AJC Bose Road & D L Khan Road crossing via D L Khan Road – S N Pandit crossing – Harish Mukherjee / A T M Road and North bound traffic along Belvedere Road shall be diverted towards west along AJC Bose Road.

13) Hospital Road will be closed from AJC Bose Road and D L Khan Road crossing.

14) North bound vehicles of E M Bye Pass which usually avail Maa Fly Over for west bound journey will be diverted towards Parama Island and then take left turn along P C Connector.

15) Since, Esplanade Ramp will be closed, vehicles will be diverted towards Hastings Crossing to avail Strand Road – Kingsway.

16) K P Road East bound traffic will be diverted from Hastings Crossing via St. Georges Gate Road – Strand Road – Kingsway.

17) Tram services along the following roads will be suspended from 04.00 hrs to 12.00 hrs on 06.01.2019 or till the Marathon is over according to the direction of traffic police on duty.

Esplanade, Lenin Sarani, R A Kidwai Road, Moulali crossing, AJC Bose Road, Khidderpore Road, Dufferin Road.

18) Parking of vehicles will be strictly restricted on the following roads from 04.30 hrs on the day till completion of the Marathon.

(i) Along S N Banerjee Road. (ii) Khidderpore Road (iii) Hospital Road (iv) CIT Road (v) Surhawardy Avenue (vi) Sundari Mohan Avenue (vii) R R Avenue (viii) Along J L Nehru Road from Dorina crossing upto Park Street crossing. (ix) Casurina Avenue (x) Lovers Lane (xi) Queens Way

19) Vehicular traffic may also be diverted/regulated/restricted along the line of route of the Marathon as and when considered necessary by the traffic police on duty.

20) Vehicular traffic may also be diverted from any of the arterial roads and feeder roads by the traffic police on duty as and when considered necessary in the interest of the public on the aforesaid date and time mentioned above.

21) These regulations shall be enforced in addition to the other normal restrictions on the day, which are not repugnant to the above.
