This walk gives an opportunity to climb two impressive in the heart of . Buchaille Etive Beag is the smaller mountain to the iconic Buchaille Etive Mor.

Our walk starts from the Park car park off the A82 opposite the beehive cairn. From here a path leads towars the route through the Lairig Eilde to the west. The path has been greatly improved by the National Trust for . We keep left heading up the lower slopes towards the bealeach. Good views of Bidean nam Bian and the can be seen to the northwest. The path heads towards the Mam Buidhe, the lowest point on the ridge. The gradient begins to ease on the final approach to the bealach and a well earned rest. From hear we turn to the south and Stob Dubh our first summit of the day. On our route along the ridge we can see the Lairig Gartain below the parallel ridge of Buachaille Etive Mor to the east. At the southern end of teh ridge The ridge narrows considerably at this point, giving a fine traverse, before the final sharper ascent up to the summit cone of Stob Dubh (956m). It is worth continuing a short distance beyond the summit cairn to get a view of Glen Etive to the south. To climb the second , Stob Coire Raineach (925m) we retrace our steps back to the bealeach and continue north up a steep and rocky ascent with several variant paths. The climb up to the summit cairn is rough but relatively short in distance. From here there is a stunning prospect down Glen Coe. To the east and north east the tangle of peaks is lessened by the vastness of Rannoch Moor. Return once more down to the bealach. Once down at the bealach, retrace your steps back down the well constructed path into the Lairig Eilde and back to the start.
