Directors Guild Directors Guild of America Technical Director / Associate Director Michael Giorgio 516 Fairfield Road Simi Valley, CA 93065 Home – (805) 522-1894 Cell - (805) 905-5755 E-mail – [email protected] My experience includes over 36 years in the television and film industry. As an Associate Director / Technical Director my goal and objective is to assist the Director on multi-camera television shows. My knowledge of the multi-camera format allows me to work side by side with the Director in the planning and placement of all cameras to capture all the needed shots to bring the show to life in the best way possible and make sure that we are photographing the joke. After working behind a camera for over 36 years I have great knowledge of how to do this and what shots are needed and how to get them. I have worked on approximately 500 sit-com episodes in my 36 plus years in the industry. I strive for speed and accuracy in the blocking of every show that I do to keep production moving and on schedule. Failure is not an option. Here is a list of some of the shows that I have worked on and the Directors that I have worked with in the past 13 years as a Technical Director/Associate Director. “ I Hate My Teenage Daughter “ “ How To Rock “(With Braces + Glasses) Pilot “ Working Class “for CMT Network “ True Jackson”, V.P. – 60 Episodes “ Two recent Nickelodeon Presentations, “Telepathetic “ and ” The Surf Show “ “ Friends” “ Joey “ “Drew Carey” “ Veronica`s Closet” “ The Game” And Various Pilots References Include : Director – Robbie Benson Director – Peter Bonerz Director – James Burrows Director – Gil Cates Jr. MORE > Director – Roger Christianson Director – Gary Halvorson Director – Dana de Vally Piazza Director – Alan Rafkin Director – Tommy Thompson Director – Andrew Weyman Director – Ben Weiss Director – Salim Akil Director – Leonard R. Mary, Roseanne, and Carrie: Television and Fictional Feminism By Rachael Horowitz Television, as a cultural expression, is unique in that it enjoys relatively few boundaries in terms of who receives its messages. Few other art forms share television's ability to cross racial, class and cultural divisions. As an expression of social interactions and social change, social norms and social deviations, television's widespread impact on the true “general public” is unparalleled. For these reasons, the cultural power of television is undeniable. It stands as one of the few unifying experiences for Americans. John Fiske's Media Matters discusses the role of race and gender in US politics, and more specifically, how these issues are informed by the media. He writes, “Television often acts like a relay station: it rarely originates topics of public interest (though it may repress them); rather, what it does is give them high visibility, energize them, and direct or redirect their general orientation before relaying them out again into public circulation.” 1 This process occurred with the topic of feminism, and is exemplified by the most iconic females of recent television history. TV women inevitably represent a strain of diluted feminism. As with any serious subject matter packaged for mass consumption, certain shortcuts emerge that diminish and simplify the original message. In turn, what viewers do see is that much more significant. What the TV writers choose to show people undoubtedly has a significant impact on the understanding of American female identity. In Where the Girls Are , Susan Douglas emphasizes the effect popular culture has on American girls.

  • Our Living Legacy: HEALTHIER COMMUNITIES
120 Years 1893 - 2013 Our Living Legacy: HEALTHIER COMMUNITIES 2013 ANNUAL REPORT & HONOR ROLL www.mcw.edu Dear Friends and Colleagues In 2013, we celebrated the 120th anniversary of the Medical College of Wisconsin. Our origin dates to 1893 with the establishment of the Wisconsin College of Physicians and Surgeons. It was the vision of our founders to educate physicians and scientists who would go forth to meet the health needs of the growing population and raise the standard of medical care in Wisconsin communities and beyond. Throughout its history, this institution has served as a prime force for improving the level of health in our community and state. Our legacy can be measured in the thousands of doctors and scientists taught and trained here, and in more than 200 significant research discoveries made by faculty that have improved medical capabilities. But ultimately our legacy is told in the countless people restored to healthier lives. From the roots planted 120 years ago, MCW has grown into a nationally recognized leader in education, research, clinical Jon D. Hammes (Far right) care, and community engagement. Our work today and the Chairman, Board of Trustees, Medical College of Wisconsin actions we set in motion now will affect the health and lives of generations ahead. In this Report, we honor our anniversary by highlighting stories that connect our past and future and carry John R. Raymond, Sr., MD (Center) forward our legacy of creating healthier communities. President and Chief Executive Officer At every major turning point in the College’s history, our community, our donors, and our state have stepped forward Joseph E.

Wolk Jewish Community Center of Greater Rochester, Ralph Meranto, Artistic Director. Welcome... “Collaboration, which in circumstances associated with hate-generating leadership, has often and rightfully been given a bad name. In the theatre, it is our lifeblood; the essential component that allows for creativity to thrive. In light of recent events in our world that may equate collaboration with complacency or worse, we have made an intensive effort to accentuate the positive definition of that word. Using the testimonies of Survivors of Hitler’s death camps and the gift of hope they continue to share with succeeding generations, they have become our lodestar, guiding us toward light, reframing our present dread into action. That action makes use of our skills as artists. We hope that by sharing Never Is Now with you, we may help you reframe what seems daunting into something life-affirming. For those of us collaborating on the making of this event, we’re stronger than we were when we began.
