AGA seeks a Public Programs and Outreach Coordinator

The Art Gallery of (AGA), a non-profit arts institution, is seeking a Public Programs and Outreach Coordinator. Reporting to the Head of Education & Learning, this position develops and coordinates public programming and outreach initiatives in-person and online.

Select Duties and Responsibilities

▪ Develop and implement an integrated public program of hands-on, interactive in-person and digital programming for adult audiences designed to complement and animate AGA exhibitions

▪ Develop and maintain effective relationships with local and provincial community members and organizations though sustainable partnerships and outreach initiatives

▪ Administration of in-person public and outreach programs including bookings and schedules; invoicing and fees; event set-up/strike; hosting; audience and ticket management; budget and financial tracking

▪ Conducting ongoing research on AGA exhibitions and collection, current trends in museum programming, best practices and ideas of relevance to the AGA

▪ Assisting in the preparation and coordination of specific grant and or sponsorship applications, funding requests and final reports in support of the public programming and outreach activities

Qualifications

▪ A degree in community development, education, art history, museum studies, arts administration or other related field ▪ Experience in customer service and program planning & production ▪ Excellent organizational and time management skills ▪ Adaptable to fast-paced environments and ability to pivot ▪ Ability to work effectively in groups and individually ▪ Bilingualism considered an asset ▪ Proficiency in working with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace; familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and other web-based presentation platforms is desirable

The Public Programs and Outreach Coordinator is a full-time, 12 month contract position.
