SQUIER® RELEASES SIGNATURE GUITARS

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (Oct. 15, 2009) – Squier is pleased to announce the release of two new signature guitars, designed in collaboration with Simon Neil and James Johnston from Biffy Clyro, which will be available beginning Oct. 20 in Europe only.

The Squier Simon Neil Signature Stratocaster® guitar and Squier James Johnston Jazz Bass® guitars are based on the popular artists’ favorite personal instruments. The Stratocaster is colour-matched to Simon’s ’60s Fender® Custom Shop Stratocaster guitar and features a custom set of pickups which are a blend of Alnico III and V magnets – giving classic Biffy Stratocaster tones with great clarity and a full-sounding bridge pickup.

The Squier James Johnston Jazz Bass is available in Lake Placid Blue finish with matching headstock, and features a modern radius neck with medium jumbo frets, and a set of Fender Custom Shop Jazz Bass single-coil pickups.

Both guitars feature a Biffy Clyro logo on the front of the Headstock and their signatures on the back of their respective instruments, and have made appearances on the band’s recent live dates.

Formed by Simon Neil (guitar/vocals) and twins James (bass/vocals) and Ben Johnston (drums/vocals), in the mid-’90s, Scottish alternative rock band Biffy Clyro have been entering into the hearts of rock fans all over the globe. Known for their complex and interwoven guitar riffs, chord sequences and melodies, and intense and exciting live show, Biffy Clyro have gained mainstream success through the release of several successful singles. Their highly- anticipated album, Only Revolutions, is scheduled to be released later this year.
