The Board has been established to coordinate and carry out all editorial functions for the Journal and to ensure the continuity of future publications. The Editorial Board of the Journal of Student Affairs at New York University promotes the submission of articles that address issues of critical interest to the NYU community and among the larger community of higher education and student affairs professionals. Articles that explore topical issues, suggest innovative programming, and embark upon original research are encouraged. As IRB editors, students will engage in the process of peer editing research for the annual Journal of Student Affairs journal publication. IRB editors work in pairs to edit an assigned research manuscript throughout the academic year. IRB editors will spend approximately 3-9 hours a month between general JoSA meetings and time spent with editing pairs to edit research manuscripts. Being an IRB editor is an excellent way to learn about and gain experience with the publishing process for an academic journal. Each ERB editor is assigned one article to review three times prior to the final decisions in mid spring. Article assignment is generally based around ERB applicants’ stated areas of interest in higher education and student affairs.
