The Stafford Municipal School District is saddened at the passing of valued Stafford High School faculty member William “Wayne” Taylor.

Taylor began working for the School District in August 2015 as a history teacher and eventually became the school’s Social Studies Department Head.

Stafford MSD Superintendent Dr. Robert Bostic met with Fort Bend County Judge K.P. George and SMSD Board Vice President Xavier Herrera, who serves as Judge George’s Communications Director, earlier this week in Richmond.

Prior to being elected to his current position, Judge George served on the Fort Bend ISD Board of Trustees. Congratulations, Stafford Elementary First Tee competitors! Emily Trujillo and Eli Osario were members of the winning team on the ‘Blue Course’, Team Scott. Each competing team is a composite team, named after current touring golf pros, comprised of a boy and a girl, each pair from six different schools. The First Tee Golfers go through eight skill stations where the TopThree boy/girl scores for each station are added together for total team score for the tournament. Team S...cott had a score of 166, the lowest score and the best team on the blue course. Osorio had the third best score on Team Scott. The deadline date for renewal and new transfers is Friday, April 5, 2019. You may obtain an application from any one of the school campuses or access the application from the district website (www.staffordmsd.org).

It opens at 6 a.m. and closes at 6 p.m. It is only $175 per month (Before & After School), or $50 per month (Mornings only) and $125 per month (Afternoons only). STAFFORD TRACK WINS DALLAS CARTER MEET

The Stafford High Boys Track & Field Team won the Dallas Carter Meet last Saturday.

The victory is significant, considering that last spring, the Spartans finished second to Carter in the UIL Class 4A Championships, by one event.

We look forward to the rematch with the Carter Cowboys at the State Meet on May 11 in Austin. This weekend, the Spartans will be in Austin for the Texas Relays! SHS BASEBALL & SOFTBALL TO VISIT WHARTON TOMORROW THE STAFFORD HIGH BASEBALL TEAM AND THE STAFFORD HIGH SOFTBALL TEAM BOTH PICKED UP THEIR FIRST DISTRICT VICTORIES OF THE SEASON LAST FRIDAY VS. Stafford High senior linebacker Ken Savanah Jr. was recently selected to play in the Bayou Bowl All-Star Game on Saturday, June 8 in Baytown.

The annual game features an All-Star Team from Greater against an All-Star Team from Louisiana.

Savanah was named Academic All-State this year and has accepted an opportunity to join the Football Team as an invited walk-on.

Savanah was a three-year letterwinner for the Spartans and played a key role on Stafford’s Class 4A State Quarterfinalist Team in 2016. He was also a key member of the Stafford Powerlifting Team.
