Description

The giraffe weevil is an insect known for its extremely long neck. It is one of 60,000 known species of weevils in the world. Most of the giraffe weevil’s body is black except for the red colors covering its wings. The body length of the males is less than 3 centimeters long and the females tend to be smaller.

Habitat & Range

The giraffe weevil was discovered in 2008 in the forests of Madagascar. That is the only country they have ever been found. They prefer to live in beetle trees.
