You will also find a short introduction of elite athletes including intermediate times leading to breaking records. Further information about the race is available in the race Magazine. MATTONI FREERUN

The project’s aim is connecting people with the same goal and interest in running. We want to prove to all that running can be fun. The project includes more than 80 running tracks over all country and more than 40 running trainers, who will help you to get ready for the running races or teach the beginners the correct technic. Regular workshop for trainers, maintenance of the running tracks, friendly environmental and enjoyment of the run – it is Mattoni FreeRun project. 19 CHARITY RUN AND HELP - IT´S EASY 410 runners bought a starting number for Volkswagen Prague Marathon through non-profit making organization and supported a good cause! Other are helping by individual fundraising and are collecting thanks to their presence for a race financial to specific for charitable purposes.

Project Run for a good cause helps on the one hand to non-profit making organization to get money and on the other hand helps to runners to multiplay their joy because they are helping for a good cause. In 2018 we do co-operate with 20 non-profit making organization from the whole Czech Republic. They sell the starting fee for RunCzech races and the money they get from it are used for charitable purposes. Main charity partner of Volkswagen Prague Marathon is Light for the World. 33 JUNIOR MARATHON JUNIOR MARATHON MAKES THOUSANDS OF STUDENTS RUN AGAIN

The biggest running event for high school students in the Czech Republic is great also this year! In April the 22nd annual Junior Marathon hosted recordly high number of participants from all regions of the country. Together 2 630 students ran in this beautiful project.

Every high school in the Czech Republic can be a part of the Junior Marathon. Ten members with at least three girls create one team. With collective effort every team runs the marathon distance. That means every student should run 4,2 km. The best teams from all semifinal rounds will compete in the final, which will be held as a part of famous Volkswagen Prague Marathon!

Thus, the students will start the race on Sunday, th6 of May, alongside with the world’s best athletes. In addition to the experience from the real race, all of them will receive a participant t-shirt and a medal at the finish. The fastest of them will be awarded at the after-race ceremony, and one lucky team can look forward to a trip to Brussels.

Junior Marathon is a RunCzech nonprofit project held since 1997. Only 5 teams took part in the first edition and now we have seen 263 teams!
