Bishop Joseph Henry Bell, Sr. Greetings from the Presiding Bishop

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. As we embark on our ninety-first Holy Convocation of our great church, we are confronted by a world system that fosters compromise. People seem to be more inclined to live according to ungodly counsel. Yet, God has called His people to walk the path of integrity. Our integrity is the basis for our enduring legacy. Mt. Sinai Holy Church of America, Incorporated has been blessed by God for being a church organization that stands for righteousness for the truth of God’s word. Solomon tells us in Proverbs 22:1 that “a good name is rather to be chosen than great riches.”

The path of integrity may be lonely at time. The path of integrity may be filled with many challenges along the way. However, the path of integrity is a path that leads us to another place in God. The path of integrity results in deliverance and victory. The path of integrity brings us to a place of blessing and enables us to impact our cities (Proverbs 11:10, 11).

Our gathering together for our Holy Convocation is a time for us to meditate on the beauty and blessings of integrity found in God’s holy word. We are coming together to hear from God through those men and women who will be ministering during this time. It is my prayer that the Lord will have His way in our midst so that when this assembly has concluded and we leave to go back home, we will return to our congre- gations enriched and empowered to walk the path of integrity God has called us to

Invitation to Communion

But God showed His love for us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us… I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 5:8, 8:38, 39 Congregation Stands and Reads

We thank Thee for this sacred table to which we come, remembering our Lord whose body was broken and whose blood was shed that we may have life.

Hymn of Preparation “Lead Me To Calvary”

King of my life, I crown Thee now, Thine shall the glory be; Lest I forget Thy thorn crowned brow, Lead me to Calvary.

Refrain

Lest I forget Gethsemane, Lest I forget Thine agony; Lest I forget Thy love for me, Lead me to Calvary.

Show me the tomb where Thou wast laid, Tenderly mourned and wept; Angels in robes of light arrayed Guarded Thee whilst Thou slept.

Refrain

Let me like Mary, through the gloom, Come with a gift to Thee; Show to me now the empty tomb, Lead me to Calvary.

Refrain

May I be willing, Lord, to bear Daily my cross for Thee; Even Thy cup of grief to share, Thou hast borne all for me. Refrain Words by: Jennie Hassey Music by: William Kirkpatrick

OFFICIANT PRAYER: “ Almighty God, giver of all good things, who by the Holy Spirit has appointed divers orders of ministers in Thy Church; mercifully behold thy servants, now called to the office of Elder, and replenish them with the truth of Thy doctrine, and adorn them with innocence of life, that by both word and good example they may faithfully serve Thee in this office, to the Glory of Thy Name, and the advancement of Thy Church, through the merits of Our Savior, Jesus Christ, who liveth and reigneth with Thee and the Holy Spirit, world without end. Amen” STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

OFFICIANT: “Dearly beloved, you have heard of what dignity and of how great importance is the office whereunto you are called. We now exhort you in the Name of Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ that you are to be messengers, watchmen, and stewards of the Lord; to teach and admonish, to feed and to provide to the Lord’s family.” And now that this congregation of Christ here assembled may understand your purpose in these things, and that this is your promise may all the more move you to perform your duties. You shall answer plainly to these things which we, in the name of God and His Church, shall ask of you touching the same: THE CHARGE: OFFICIANT: Do you believe in your heart that you are truly called according to the will of our Lord, Jesus Christ, to the ministry of an Elder/Ordained Evangelist?

CANDIDATE: I do believe.

OFFICIANT: Are you persuaded that the Holy Scriptures contain all truth required for eternal salvation through faith in Jesus Christ? And are you determined out of the same scriptures so to instruct the people committed to your charge that they may enter into eternal life? Will you give faithful diligence to minister the doctrine of Christ, the sacraments, and the discipline of the church and in the Spirit of Christ to defend the Church against all doctrine contrary to God’s Word?

CANDIDATE: I will so do, by the help of the Lord.

OFFICIANT: Will you be diligent in prayer, in the reading of the Holy Scriptures, and in such studies as will help you gain knowledge of God and His Kingdom?

CANDIDATE: I will, the Lord be my helper.

OFFICIANT: Will you apply your diligence to frame and fashion your own lives after the teachings of Christ?

CANDIDATE: I will, the Lord be my helper.

DEACONS:

OFFICIANT: Do you trust that you are inwardly moved by the Holy Ghost to take upon you this office and administration to serve God in promoting His Church and the edifying of His People?

DEACONS: I trust so.

OFFICIANT: Are you persuaded that the Holy Scriptures contain all doctrine necessary for eternal salvation through faith in Jesus Christ?

DEACONS: I am so persuaded.

OFFICIANT: Will you apply your diligence to frame and fashion your own lives after the teaching of Christ?

DEACONS: I will so do, the Lord being my helper.

“Just A Closer Walk with Thee” Author - unknown

I am weak, but Thou art strong; Jesus, keep me from all wrong; I’ll be satisfied as long As I walk, let me walk close to Thee.

Refrain

Just a closer walk with Thee, Grant it, Jesus, is my plea, Daily walking close to Thee, Let it be, dear Lord, let it be.

Through this world of toil and snares, If I falter, Lord, who cares? Who with me my burden shares? None but Thee, dear Lord, none but Thee.

Refrain

When my feeble life is o’er, Time for me will be no more; Guide me gently, safely o’er To Thy kingdom shore, to Thy shore.

Refrain

23

Trust and Obey Words by: John Sammis - music by: Daniel Towner

When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word, What a glory He sheds on our way! While we do His good will, He abides with us still, And with all who will trust and obey.

Refrain

Trust and obey, for there’s no other way To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies, But His smile quickly drives it away; Not a doubt or a fear, not a sigh or a tear, Can abide while we trust and obey.

Refrain

Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share, But our toil He doth richly repay; Not a grief or a loss, not a frown or a cross, But is blessed if we trust and obey.

Refrain

But we never can prove the delights of His love Until all on the altar we lay; For the favor He shows, for the joy He bestows, Are for them who will trust and obey.
