LPS-Public Quick Start Guide
LPS-Public Quick Start Guide This guide is for the beginner user to create and use a Lightweight Portable Security – Public Edition (LPS- Public) CD to more securely browse the Internet and access CAC-enabled websites. For more information on LPS-Public, see http://www.spi.dod.mil/lipose.htm. LPS-Public focuses on safe browsing; it supports thumb drives but intentionally lacks drivers (support) for hard drives and printers. 1. Create a bootable CD from the ISO image (*.iso, an image file of an optical disc). a) Download and save the LPS-Public ISO image from http://www.spi.dod.mil/lipose.htm. b) Burn the image to a blank CD using ISO software (e.g., UltraISO, ISO Maker, K3b, CDBurnerXP, Easy CD Creator, ImgBurn, CDBurn, Nero Burning ROM, Roxio Creator, or one of many others but ATSPI endorses none). This is not the same as just saving the file to a CD. c) Write the LPS version number on the CD. 2. Connect your PC or Intel-based Mac to a wired Ethernet network with DHCP service, or have a wireless (WiFi) or broadband cellular network available. 3. Connect a USB CCID-compliant CAC reader to your PC. Many built-in readers are not supported. Insert your CAC into the reader. If you have an old or non-CCID reader, you may need new firmware from the OEM. LPS contains a Firmware Updating utility that you should run. 4. Insert the LPS-Public CD into the CD drive. Restart your computer. It may take a few minutes to boot LPS. -
Offworld Trading Company V1.21 Brings Updated Language Support
Offworld Trading Company v1.21 brings updated language support for both base game and DLCs The best selling economic real-time strategy game now have updated translations in Simplified Chinese, Russian, German, and more. Plymouth, MI. – November 1, 2018 - Today, Stardock announced the release of v1.21 for Offworld Trading Company, a game in which players take on the role of entrepreneur and travel to Mars for an economic showdown against rival companies. The version update improves localization for several languages and adds some balance updates that enhance the gameplay experience. In Offworld Trading Company, players buy out the competition and take control of the Martian market in a strategy game where money, not military force, is their greatest weapon. The real-time, player-driven market is the foundation of the game, allowing players to buy and sell resources and materials - even the food and water that the colonists need to survive. Players will also have to deal with some underhanded black market methods of sabotage, like pirate raiders, hackers trying to disrupt production, covert electromagnetic pulses, and more. The game supports online match play with up to 8 players, as well as single player campaigns, skirmishes, or daily challenges. For more serious players, ranked ladder games will give them the opportunity to earn ranks and prove their worth. The v1.21 update adds improved localization in both the base game and all of Offworld Trading Company’s DLC for the following languages: ● Simplified Chinese ● German ● French ● Spanish ● Korean ● Polish ● Russian ● Brazilian Portuguese Offworld Trading Company is $19.99 through Steam or Stardock. -

Ashes of the Singularity: Escalation Hunter / Prey DLC and V2.9
Ashes of the Singularity: Escalation Hunter / Prey DLC and v2.9 Update Announced The DLC Includes New Units, Base Defenses, and a Scenario Plymouth, MI. – November 6, 2019 - Today, Stardock announced the new Hunter / Prey DLC for its massive-scale RTS game, Ashes of the Singularity: Escalation. New Substrate units and PHC base defenses add depth to players’ strategic options in skirmish, multiplayer, campaign, and scenarios. “This dlc further differentiates the two factions,” said Callum McCole, lead designer for Ashes of the Singularity: Escalation. “The PHC are now much better at locking down territory, while the Substrate’s new units provide versatile tools for assaulting enemy strongholds.” In Hunter / Prey, Substrate players can take advantage of the devastating capabilities of the new Heart of the Phoenix juggernaut, unleash swarms of mechanical Hatchlings using the Clutch of Eggs, and disable enemy defenses with the Falling Star. PHC players can defend their territory with the powerful and heavy-hitting Minos Cannon, wipe out enemy shields using the Nova Tower, or freeze units dead in their tracks using the Stasis Hammer. There are more units and structures to try out and explore, which means greater battles and deeper strategy. To introduce players to the new units and defenses, a brand new scenario focusing on the Substrate’s expansion onto a PHC-occupied world is included. Multiple paths lead to the main enemy base, each with different defenses, so players will have to deploy their armies carefully. Each Nexus they destroy unlocks more of the new units, further building up their reinforcements. The v2.9 update to the base game will release concurrently with the DLC. -
