Curramulka 3 Christmas Progress Association President’s Report... Lights Despite some recent stormy and windy weather in Hardwicke Bay, the seasons are turning and warming At the Hall 3 up and we are seeing a steady stream of summer holiday makers drifting back into town. It’s a great time of year when our little community comes alive and tractors are three deep on the beach! We certainly Bin Collection 4 hope all the shack owners and tourists enjoy the forthcoming summer holidays.

Brain Teaser 4 We recently had some changes to the executive positions on our committee. Judi our Treasurer reluctantly had to stand down due to family circumstances. On behalf of the residents of Hardwicke Bay, I would like to thank Judi for her tireless commitment to the Progress Association over many years, and Local contact 5 wish her and her husband Ferd the best for the future. Sue Crook, our current Secretary, immediately information volunteered to take on the role of Treasurer and Janet Firth will step into Sue’s previous job as Secretary. I wish to thank both ladies for stepping up without a moment’s hesitation at short notice to fill these vital Tide Times 6 positions. Well done. Instagram 6 While I am thanking people, Graham and Christina Ball have donated a huge pile of dried and cut fire- wood to the HBPA. (Several truck loads by all accounts!!). As you know, we sell firewood at the shop in bags and members only can purchase a trailer load for $100 (filled to water level of a 6 x 4 trailer). This is way cheaper than prices, so next season – bring your trailer and let’s raise plenty of money that will go back into the community. Thanks to the Ball’s for their generous donation.

Thanks must also go to Geoff and Sue Crook who have been watering the row of trees along Cutline Road and Progress Road. This job takes several hours each week and they have not lost one single shrub out of 150 planted – great effort guys!

With the new year approaching, it is time again to request membership fees for the Association. These have remained at $15 per year for each residence for the last six years, so they will be increased slightly to $20 per year. Remember, all fees go straight back into community projects. It also allows members to be part of the weekly prize money draw, they receive discounted drinks at the Club, discounted firewood and use of the hall facilities. Please join up when you receive your annual renewal.

Wishing everyone the best over the holiday season and the new year - and drive safely on the roads.

Curramulka Christmas Lights

The township of Curramulka puts on one of the most impressive Christmas Light displays on the each year. The official switch on was the 1st December and lights remain on until New Years.

Make sure you drive through the town and experience the lights for yourself. The kids will love it and adults will too!

On behalf of residents Sue and Jeff Crook we would like to thank the person who backed over their car on Wednesday 21st November at Bingo. We believe it was a white utility as there were the remains of the white paint left on the car. This is costing the Crooks over $600 in repairs and it would be great if the person responsible could come forward as we are a country community that are meant to look after each other.
