Dear Groves Families, The Groves Student Congress would like to extend a huge thank you to the entire Groves community for their support over the past week. Thanks to all of you, we were able to beat our goal of raising $35,000 for NAMI , with our grand total adding up to $52,487.42! This far surpasses anything that we could have ever imagined, and we were only able to raise this much because of your incredible dedication and generosity. This donation will go towards bettering the lives of persons and families affected by mental illness. Together, the Groves community has worked to help end the stigma surrounding mental health. We hope that everyone had fun during this busy week, and that we all can feel proud of what we have accomplished. Once again, thank you for your continued support, and we cannot wait to begin planning another amazing Charity Week next year. Thank you, Groves Student Congress Successful Groves Blood Drive Thank you again for supporting the lifesaving community service of Michigan Blood. A great day for our student body today our blood drive netted 52 full pints! Our goal was 36. To put these results in a fuller perspective, remember that each donated pint of blood can help as many as three people! On behalf of the people who need blood in our community, we are very grateful to everyone who took part in your drive. Special thanks to the following students from GSC: Elana Bittker, Lizzie Kompus, Lauren Palmer and Sam Zack who did a great job of making all the necessary preparations, and getting students registered. Congratulations, Coach! We wish you many more successful and happy years of coaching the Falcons! Men's Swim and Dive The Emerald Tide participated in the Oakland County meet earlier this month. Great efforts were put forth by our team and the Emerald Tide finished 9th in the field of 29 and beat out rival Seaholm. Hearty congratulations to Nolan Kamoo who achieved a state cut in the 100 Breaststroke! Also, kudos to diver Pablo Valentin who made it to counties in his first ever dive season! Only a few days after counties, Seaholm was out for revenge in the Groves vs. Seaholm dual meet. Despite terrific swims and dives by our guys, Seaholm held on for the win. The dual season ended with a meet against D1 Novi High School. Again, the Emerald Tide was strong but was defeated narrowly by Novi. The OAA Red League meet is up next for the Emerald Tide and will be held at Seaholm.
