From the beginning of the 2020 school year OSHC will be operated by ‘Community OSH’ their slogan being ‘Care with Heart’. Further information will be emailed tomorrow. Respect Resilience Responsibility Kindness Medications There are strict guidelines about medications in the school setting so please ensure that if your child requires medi- cine to be given at school, that you hand it in to someone in the office. It cannot be sent along in the child’s bag or given to the classroom teacher. School Costs 2020 At the last School Council meeting on 20 November, council approved the proposal that the Parent Payments for 2020 increase by $10, taking the total cost of school fees to $280. An itemised list will be distributed with your child early in Term 1, 2020. Our school relies on the generosity of its community to improve and maintain our facilities and educational re- sources, therefore there is also a section for parents to nominate a voluntary donation amount. Further information can be found by reading the school’s Parent Payment Policy, which can be found on the school website www.warrandyteps.vic.edu.au Beauty and the Beast What an amazing production! A huge thank you to everyone who made the show such a fabulous success. To all the parents who helped with making props, providing food at weekend rehearsals and ironing and fitting costumes. To the staff who helped with rehearsals, worked backstage, supervised students, packed the truck, drove the truck and unpacked the truck this morning, and who will be washing and cleaning costumes this weekend. To the students who showed a real commitment to learning lines, dance moves and song lyrics. I think we may have discovered some future stars. And of course to Kirsty, for her inspirational vision and dedication to produce such a remarkable and impressive show. Thank you everyone. Cathie Brooks (Acting Principal) Respect Resilience Responsibility Kindness 2 Warrandyte Community Carols Saturday December 21st Any children who would like to sing with me on stage at the Warrandyte Community Carols at Stiggants Reserve, on Saturday December 21st, are welcome to do so. I am performing two songs with some of the School Bushband in- strumental players. I’d like some extra voices to join me on stage to sing the second song, Warrandyte Christmas. I will have a few practices at school with the children who will be participating. I’ll give these children the words to the song, and it’s important they try to learn them. On the night, the performance will begin around 7.30 – 7.40pm. It is a wonderful community family night, so come along and join in the Christmas cheer. Kevin O’Mara IGA Points A very big thank you to those parents that kindly donate their IGA points to Warrandyte Primary each time they shop. We have been advised that recently IGA underwent an upgrade to their system and as a result those points no longer automatically transfer to Warrandyte Primary. If you still would like to continue to donate your points or start (and we sincerely hope do as we use these points for a variety of events) please advise IGA next time you are shopping and they will quickly set that up for you and us! Thank you for your continued support of WPS Respect Resilience Responsibility Kindness 3 Year 5/6 I Can Make A Difference Project The Smith Family Christmas Appeal Presents for poverty Hello everyone our names are Lucy and Zara. This year all the grade five and six students were given the task of mak- ing a difference in the local community, Australia or the world. We have decided to donate books and toys to the Smith Family Christmas Appeal to bring some joy to Families living in poverty. We would appreciate it if you could donate new or unused toys and books. We will have a donation box at the office and we aim to collect 30 books and 30 toys. If you are unsure if the present will be suitable or not we will have a list of the gifts that will be unsuitable for these families. Thank you for your support. Zara and Lucy School Banking Tuesday is banking day so please send your child’s deposit book and $ of course, to the office or give to your child’s teacher by Tuesday morning each week Thank you Lisa :) Term 4 Excursions/Activities A reminder that the term 4 excursions/activities planner is available on Compass. Thanks for coming up to change the linen, make the beds up and return it next week all fresh and clean, much appreciated Cherise Respect Resilience Responsibility Kindness 4 Performing Arts News Congratulations to all our students from Prep to Year 6 on a fabulous performance last night! After many weeks of scene, song and dance rehearsals, it was a delight watching our young cast shine on stage. Even more rewarding was seeing the pride and joy on the students’ faces after the show – a sign of how happy they felt about their amazing per- forming arts achievements. Special thanks to the Parker Family’s Dave Thorne for lovingly creating a brilliant inven- tion for Maurice (one to rival anything the ‘real’ Maurice could have invented). Many thanks, too, to all our other props creators and loaners from the Stephens, Kneebone, Curnow, Whetters, Tobin, Clarke and Ashmore families – and to staff members Eliza and Jo. Thank you, too, to Lisa Attrill, Deanna Poole and all our classroom teachers for fitting and labelling costumes, to Yolande Larratt and Lachlan for photography – and to everyone in our school community who contributed to the success of “Beauty and The Beast Jr”. DVDs of the show can be ordered at the office until December 4. Loaned prop and set items will be available for col- lection from the Bampi from lunchtime today. Helpers needed to wash shirts We need parents to assist with washing costume shirts and pants. Please let your classroom teacher know if you can help by taking home a class or two of costumes after the show. Most items can simply be put in the washing machine and either line or tumble dried and returned to school the week after the production. Concert DVD’s & Programs If you would like to order a copy of last nights performance please complete the order form on page 14 and return to the office (cash only please) by next Wednesday 4 December. There are also a few programs still available, so if you missed out on a copy last night or would like an extra copy they are available from the office for $5.00. • GUIA-ESMAIXADA-MUNDIAL Def.Pdf
